If so, do you have any tips on getting ideas/inspiration for a story?

Okay there's a series of stories i've been writing since 3rd grade. (I am in 7th now). I have written 7 stories in that series. The charcters grew up with me evn though they arent real, i love them. I write atleast 5 pages everyday in about an hour. I have shared it with everybody i know and they say it is very inspirational. (the story) It is about 1 girl who has a terrible life, she runs away from Oregon to Seattle and meets tons of people. That understand her. (its better if you read the story i guess)
When i meet people and tell them i've written a series with stories up to 300 pages long in the novels they go into awe and that makes me keep wanting to write more.
I also write lyrics. (I'm in a band) When writing lyrics i think the less you make up the story to your song the better the song is.
I think the more time you spend on a story the better it is.
Writing has definetly changed my life dramaticly. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
A good way to get insparation is what surrounds you. I also watch movies to get ideas from there problems. And a story is only a good story if you get your person/people into alot of problems.Or if you wanna write like JK ROWLING with wizards and what not then spend ALOT of time day dreaming. Or do some research involving other books.
Alot of the time i like to act out lines in my stories before i write more. And alot of my friends like to give me ideas. Alot of people realy appretiate that i write so i get alot of good ideas from them too.
Also alot of people tell me my stories would make good films, so i plan on becoming a director.
And you really gotta take writing seriously. SERIOUSLY

Hope that helps... good luck

Oh, I write about some things, some times on some occasions.

Most ideas just pop into my head but, here's a good inspiration, where ever you are, people are having conversations. They may be at the airport, the bus stop, the grocery store (listen to people waiting in the check out lanes), the Dr.'s office, every place, and any place. Just pick up on some of the things that they are discussing and write a story dialog about the topic.

Sometimes, a good source is the newspaper's classified ads section. The sky's the limit!

I love to write. I always get my best inspirations when I am reading. When you come across something you don't like with the story and you realize what you would have done differently....

I have a notebook with collections of little ideas like that. I also write down when I hear interesting things in snippets of conversations. Everything can inspire. Just keep track of things that capture your attention, and before you know it you be generating ideas faster than you can turn them into stories. =)

I used to love to write, but not so much anymore.

As for inspiration, I just took real life events and maybe 'altered' it a little bit to make it more entertaining.

of course i like to write!- lyrics, poems, short sories, novellas, random chapters that don't go anywhere and never will. i get a lot of inspiration from dreams (yes that sounds corny) but seriously, dreams are so strange- you come up with things you'd never think of if you stopped to think of them. and another thing- in order to make it good, you have to let it flow. just kinda sit and pour your heart out, frustrations and joy, love and dispair. you have to have felt it first in order for your charecters to.

I like to take a basic premise then stretch it until it gets ridiculous .... Then its time to get started writing to make it seem believable.

Or take a concept and change the setting/time frame.
