God I wish my husband would go and buy one!! Don't you know the rules?! What ever you buy for yourself, you have to buy something of equal value for your wife. Go get her a Coach purse from Macy's...she'll forgive you!

this is why my dh and I have a rule that things over $100 have to be discussed before buying. My husband would flip out if I went out and bought something like that. Good luck to you!
The only advice I have is that you need to look at the budget and figure out where the money will come from. Like if this month we had more car expenses than usual than I would have to take that money out of the grocery budget and the fun budget. You're going to have to figure out how to stick to the budget now that you've splurged.

Give her 500 dollars to go buy a Coach purse on. Explain to her how smart you were to get the new bluray technology so cheaply and how blockbuster is going to all bluray eventually. Get her a ps3 game. Have fun with it!!! I bought my hubby a xbox 360 and I love it! I play a lot when the kids are in bed. Mabye she'll feel the same way.

There's no going around it so you might as well be honest with her..If you are living on a budget its probably because there are important reasons for it...I understand your need for a popular and new, hot game console but, is it truly worth it at the end??? Couldn't you have waited to get this or maybe included her in getting this together....
Something you could endure for a while before telling her....

I think you should be upfront with her. You might end up in trouble but its better off telling the truth rather then keeping it from her because later it will bite you in the ***. Just come clean ! If you dont she will use it against you every time you get into a fight. If you keep it a secret she'll be offended that you wouldn't be able to share secrets with her and then problems in the relationship will spark and you dont want that. My final answer is to tell the truth, who knows maybe she'll be happy you did.

If it wasn't in the family budget - then there's no explanation. Suggestion - put aside mad money each month for both of you. Money that you don't have to be accountable for. Save it up and buy whatever you want. But if you knew it wasn't in the budget and bought it anyway, you deserve whatever's coming your way. :)

Ewww... that was not good. Well, I guess you have to tell her. I would just say that you wanted it really really bad. Tell her she can have the same amount of money from your check and spent it on herself. Although she will probably still be mad. I know if my husband did that, I would be a bit mad too. But I would eventually get over it.

Well I'm assuming the two of you share a bank account. Why didn't you discuss it with her first. I like my toys too. But they're not cheap. I would be a little remift if I was her.
