This was more prevalent awhile back , but I just got reminded of it when I was scanning the slide-show pictures of the Brazillian Plane Crash . There was a photo of a woman(assumedly marching in honor of the dead or protesting the situation) who had a red thing on her nose too , and I'm sorry , but I guess I never got the memo .
What's this all about anyway ?

bush - I know what that woman was doing , but not why she had on a red clown nose . And you must be forgetting something . Nt all that long ago many people had them on their noses on their avatars on THIS SITE .

LOL at the variety of answers,

the only thing I know about red noses Earnest, is in Britain we have a certain day of the year as red nose day, it's a big fund-raising event for different charities.

I saw those photos. Those weren't avatars. They were people who were protesting the Brazilian governments' inept record of airline safety by mocking them as "clowns".

Since YA has gone overboard with suspending accounts, I think fewer people bother to put as much time and effort into customizing their avatars as they once did. I know I don't.

I think it has something to do with the 15% of people who feel some strange compulsion to look like the annoying Verizon wireless guy in their avatars.
