Yes. Because New Orleans has a rich and flavorful history.

It should be rebuilt. Not just by our government. But by the whole NATION.

Get people down there to donate their time, money, and effort.

Work collectively to restore NOs to its former glory.

That would be cool.

Let me meander on this for a second. In my state, California...we have rich idiots who build multimillion dollar houses on hillsides that surely will fall at some point. I believe they should be able to build there if they want, but when the totally expected happens, they should not have their hand out asking for help. Now, the same for New Orleans :)

I think they should. We went down there after because my husband helped with rebuilding houses and my brothers were doing some demolition.....it's such a cool place. It has so much history that is now lost..however, I think it should be rebuilt to the best of it's ability. there are still some pretty cool things left down there, and people still living there. So, my opinion is yes. Even though it was right after a tradegy, it still has lots of potential.

yes, it will.
the thing is, who will live there ?
will the poor be able to go home, can they afford it ?
my guess is - No.

New Orleans will be rebuilt by people that can afford to. The Upper-Middle Class and the Rich.

until our government get's over their corruptions.. i guess it'll have to lay in waste.

it's going to take alot of work to keep orleans from going back to the sea because it is way below sea level and being right there in the gulf region i'm amazed it took this long to turn it into a oversized tide pool.

that whole coast needs something like they have in the netherlands.. but that takes cooperation, lots and lots of money and know how.

i'm not sure right now that is a good time... since our president doesn't have his mind on domestic affairs.

NO because New Orleans is located inside a crater. They will always have floods like the one where Katrina hit. They should rebuild it above sea level. Right now, they're below sea level and they will have tragedies like Katrina often because of it. So my vote is to rebuild it somewhere else above sea level.

Sure, provided I don't have to pay a dime for the reconstruction or the subsequent destruction and reconstruction.

Next question.

No, it shouldn't have been built there in the first place. If they do build, they should not be allowed federal help to recover.
