Sick of the Religious Right. I am Roman Catholic which means I should support the likes of Pat Robertson and Jimmy Swaggart. Now that the joke is over I must say that I would weclome the day the Religious Right goes by the way of the dinosaur. These "self-professed" doers of rightiousness makes me sick. It also makes me wonder if they have read the parts of the Bible where Jesus talks about loving our neighbors and respecting people, as they keep talking about how a small minority of the population is an afront to god.
The Religious Right has always been wrong and the sooner the people realize this, the sooner America starts heading in the right direction. If you want to know how to get in Gods good gracious just remember the two greatest commandments to love god and to treat everyone as you would like to be treated. Remember another verse from the Bible, beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves (Matthew 7:15). That is the Religious Right.

Well I will answer this as a Christian and a conservative. I must say I kind of agree with you on this to some degree. I mean I myself get worn out from hearing people of religion gripe and go on and on about what all is wrong and how we must fix this nation. This would not be so bad if they would come up with some actual real remedies to the issues that they are addressing. Most gripe about the right to life, yes I am pro-life to some degree. I do fill that if the woman health is in danger then she should be allowed an abortion. I also feel that if the woman is say eight weeks or less she should be able to get one. Beyond that no, I mean she knew what she was doing when she opened her legs. The man should be made to pay any doctor bills that she is unable to cover herself as well. I mean it does take 2 to get this way. I see the far right Christians as about as bad as the far right Muslims. I mean anything taken to it's extreme is bad. The problem is that these Christians are to upset about what and how others are living and seem to never take a look at their own actions. We are to love all, and be forgiving. It is not our place to judge but that of our God. I do not mind a good debate but here once again many on the far right are getting as bad as the people on the far lift with name calling and so on. I feel that people should live for the most part as they like. Note I said for the most part, there are rules and regulations we all must abide by for the good of our society. This society has to some degree become to repressive on religion as a whole. I mean that with all religions not just the Christian one. We need to be a bit more tolerant of others and their beliefs. In all no the far right Christians are not going anywhere, just like the far left, that are pro-choice on all matters, that would lower the age of consent to 13, (Ruth Gensburger) (sp), and want the government to pay for everything for all Americans and just anyone who happens to be in this nation legally or not. The thing is that there is a middle ground, that most have forgotten about. We should all try to find it and make our leaders find it as well. Sorry this was do darn long. :)

America is still a great country. I listen to what the right has to say, what the left has to say and what the conservatives have to say. Then I make up my own mind. I do not believe in extremes one way or another. The Christian Right is not going to go away Pamela, fortunately, the current President has to go away when his term is up. The sad part is the mess he will be leaving behind when he does go.

The right winged extremist can't even admit to their own actions. I already know we all will have to listen to Hate radio and Fox news until George Bush is gone. Shoving their view points down other peoples throats while masking the Republican party's agendas behind the Bible has been nothing but blasphemy. These people don't have any idea what a Christian even entails.
The scary part of this scenario is, it all is written down in Revelations as being part of the Anti-Christ.

That would be me, for sure, and please understand, I'm certainly a spiritual person. I believe in forgiveness and charity and treating my brother as I would prefer to be treated.
I've just had my share (and been face to face) with religious extremists who think that Jesus gives them total license to extend their "witnessing" to the point of harassment.
Make no mistake about it, leaders from the "Christian Right" have openly expressed their "agendas" which include controlling and censoring anything they disagree with.
My answer is, if you don't like something, don't look at it, don't read it, don't listen to it. Change the channel, but you don't have the right to censor it. That's what freedom of speech and expression is all about.
Now, if a record label chooses NOT to promote a certain artist or group because their lyrics and style are just far too incendiary or pejorative, that's their choice. That's not censorship.
Not every Letter to the Editor gets printed. Same goes for other artistic endeavors.
But the "Christian Right" has been quite up front about how they want to instill and install their version of religion into our lives, and in America, no one religion gets precedence over another, and there is even freedom FROM religion, as it should be.
We can only hope that the next president is an improvement in that sense.

I am tired of the extremists on both ends of the political spectrum. All they do is attempt to promote their self serving personal agendas through the use of fear mongering, innuendo, gross generalizations and hate. The constant ignorant diatribes which they spew forth do nothing to enhance the political arena. In fact their actions have the opposite effect, they are driving more and more of the electorate to take an apathetic view of politics as a whole.

i am not a self-appointed arbitrator of right and wrong.
God does the arbitrating through His word, the Holy Scriptures.
if a Guilla Christ says something is from the Scriptures, and shows book, chapter, and verse, then, it is the TRUTH.
There IS ONLY ONE TRUTH, and it is found in the Bible.
in this world where supposedly no one knows or can prove just exactly WHAT the truth about life is, the supposed 'intellectual' will say to "do whatever yous think is right"...
THAT IS NOT God's way...
the atheist says that there is no God... LOOK AROUND at the AWESOME creation.... there alone is evidence enough, and, NO this did NOT come to be just by 'chance'.... "chance is the name of a dog...
True Christians are encouraged in the Bible to ACT for their best interests, AS LONG AS their interests are in harmony with God's interests... which would involve the advancement of His will being done in the Earth...This could entail talking about His high moral standards, suing for rights for religious freedom in the courts, and beseeching political leaders for fairness, and for just laws....
a true Christian would NOT involve himself in the governments or armies of the national groups, just as the First followers of the Christ did not do...
Too bad if yous are "sick and tired" of Christians.... yous are in the same company as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and others who HATED Christians and continually subverted their moral teachings FROM the Bible... WHERE ARE THOSE PEOPLE TODAY?
in the Bible God says, "Woe to those making right what is wrong, and making wrong, right..."

Liberals are the same way. It seems to be a human condition to try to make others do things the way we do. When it comes to laws we should aways try for win/win but Ive definately seen both sides force their views on the rest.

I'm sure you just forgot to give an example of how Christians are arbitrating what is "correct" for the rest? Nice. Prime example of Liberals always doing the movement with the mouth or keyboard with no proof, sources, or facts to back up your claim. Got news for ya, Christians are here to stay.

Their views are definitely not in line with any Christian religion I know of. And I'm getting tired of the holier than thou garbage they spew on Sunday morning televangelist shows.
Change a few words and they sound just like the radical Muslims that claim that Mohammed isn't holy enough.
USAMA: I'd have to agree with you there!! I'm sure He's tired of it.
