Considering the fact that 25% of America still think Bush is "doing a good job" I wouldn't hold my breath.

Republican voters are typically a little slow on the uptake.

Note that there were no complaints about the electoral college until my side lost (Democratic). You may be too young (not an insult) to remember that President Clinton went through the same nonsense when he LOST the popular vote but won on the electoral college. Some Republicans (not all, most were sane about it) whined about him really losing and what a bad idea the electoral college.

Like this time, I didn't see any of them complaining BEFORE the voting, only after their candidate lost.

Gore lost the election. He won the popular vote. He isn't and shouldn't have been President, any more than Clinton should have lost when it happened to him.

In addition, there's the official counts to consider (you might want to recheck the more modern numbers) and the fact that illegal acts keep happening on the recounts so that the court finally had to stop the selective recounting that was occurring. That's public record. It had nothing to do with President Bush's brother, etc., except that that was picked as a good point of attack by my party (what more obvious place to call into question!)

We made Florida the issue, they didn't.

You need to leave this behind you. It just looks silly. It doesn't help us.

When will people understand the electoral college was created by the democrats and the first time a close call works against them the crying started. It has gone on for 7 years and all it accomplished is prove how hard it is to get a lib to admit defeat. It is not important what the popular vote was. Face the music and get on with the next dance.

Are you for actual ! If Gore grew to become into President then he might nonetheless be at floor 0 immediately thinking what to do. Btw, the "Gore quite gained" is fairly, quite getting older. Technically, legally, and by using all recounts Bush gained Florida and the Electoral college.

Anyone that has study history and that understands the electoral college knows that this is not the first time that the winner of the election lost the popular vote. This was not even the most extreme case.

We here in the U.S.A. have a strange voting system, you need electoral votes, not popular votes. Therefore it is possible ,and it has happened in the past, that one candidate can win while having less poplular votes.

Maybe the Democrats should get all the crack smokers to vote this time around, they are all democrats...

Keep your eye on the future, the past is gone. Don't cry over spilled milk, just make sure you go out and vote.
