Just out of curiousity. . . If you adopt an animal online, how are they going to be shipped to you? You have to go drive there to get them, yes? It's just that I've never tried adopting online, and I've always been to shelters, I don't really know how it works.

Most animals are shipped via the airline which is not cheap.
But most animal shelters will not ship animals, they either make you meet them a certain distance or you have to pick them up.
Good for you for thinking of adopting an unwanted animal.

Be careful, there are many recent scams when someone purchases/adopts a dog online and the dog is never shipped.

OK depending on were the dog is by boat plane or you can drive I don't recommend getting a dog off line because you don't no what the condition the animal is in no matter what they tell you ooh they dog just got her shot you dont no that and they usually don't come with a refund if the dog gets sick .But you really just dont no.

If I assume correctly you are probably looking at Petfinder.com.
The shelters listed on there generally want the dogs to be adopted out to owners in the same area. Just go to petfinder.com and search in your area for a dog.

They aren't shipped in boxes or crates through the mail. They will either be driven to u or flown on a plane to you. I'm pretty sure.

I drove to pick up my puppy when I adopted her online, but some people do have them flown to them.
