Do you mean an Albino Oscar? Yellow/Gold Oscars are either dyed or albino. They should have them at any fish store. By the way, one Oscar needs 55+ gallons of water because they get about 18 inches long.

Sorry, I can't tell you where to go to buy the Oscar you are looking for in your area, but I wanted to address all of the experts who have never seen a common gold Oscar. It is NOT dyed but merely a genetic variant of a solid Red Oscar. It looks like a Red Oscar with a Gold or Yellow tint instead of Red. Honestly, it's a pretty common fish around here (Washington DC area) so I would imagine your local independent aquarium shop might be able to get one in for you.

I have no idea where that is, but I worked at Petsmart in Texas. I know that my manager would often order animals/fish for people who really new what they were getting into. You should try talking with your local petstore and seeing about if you could get them to order you one. It will probably take some persuading. They have the hook up, they know where to get the fish. Ironically, we used to sell the yellow/gold oscars. To bad you're not in Texas.

Be careful, unusual colors are often dyed...where they use needles to inject dye into the fish. I think they even dip them in a solution to burn off the slime coating first. (How is this not animal abuse??) All that and color usually fades away. Often they have health issues and don't last long.

I had an albino...that was previously a "blueberry Oscar" (didn't know as much as I should have). Luckily the blue was light and wore off rather quickly. I did have him for a several years (lost him last September), but he never got as big as they usually do. But he was fat and happy fish for the years he did live, so I'm glad I was able to give him that much. : )
