I kinda like the advanvement in computers. They seem at least to me to increase productivity and aid complex reasearch creating an advancement in discovery and scientific understanding. The internet did a damn fine job of ushering in the information age. Heck I'm old enough to remember having to go to your local bank branch and stand in line to get $. Now it's available from your account globaly.

Taking down the Soviet Union and freeing millions form tyrants like Saddam was a major achievement of this country. Permitting women in Afghanistan to come out from under their burkars and show their face was an accomplishment. Sending food to starving people around the world and giving medicine to millions at no cost was an accomplishment and last but not least changing presidents when the popular vote did not result in a candidate getting elected was a big win for democracy. The party does not matter it is the ability of the country to adjust to negatives that is important. In the coming years we will endure many challenges and I am sorry to say, defeats around the world. Our ability to recover and go forth is an accomplishment. No other country has experienced the divisions we have without civil wars. Our biggest problem is to put country above politics and protect those Americans just born and yet to be born.

I am proud to be an American. Do I think we have made mistakes, yes but who hasn't. Are we a country that tries to help others that don't have as much, yes we do. Can we cure everyone's problems, no of course not. Yes I think we have some bad people here but we have more good people than bad ones. We have a lot of problems but I know of no other country I would rather live in.

I never had partisan anything to begin with. Anyway, I think fewer Americans smoke than before, and we're eating healthier. Also the pedophile tracking list is a good thing (I had to think hard, but at least I came up with something.)

as a nation we have made incredible roads in finding cures for cancer and other major illnesses, we as Americans have gone into our pockets helping devasted countries hurt by typhoons, we gave recently to the hurrican victims! we have helped out the starving children in africa ,we were asked to help out in the mideast! its not pretty but that is true!, we still have our doors open to immigrants if they apply the right way, and believe me this is a minute amount of what Americans have done the last 20 years,

The first Persian Gulf War - We got Iraq out of Kuwait, did it with a coalition force, and didn't get involved in endless nation-building.
The end of the Cold War - The dropping of the Berlin Wall.
The economic prosperity of the 1990s. - PayGo, the Contract with America, elimination of the deficit, and a balanced government.
The response to 9/11 (right up to the point the invaded Iraq) - We recovered from a big blow with dignity and strength, we didn't let it break us, we garnered support from all over the world.

No, I do not. I think that in the Bush/Clinton era, we the Americans, have been duped into having 'partisan pride'. We're so focused on petty partisan issues that we don't even notice the rampant corruption right under our noses. AND our current crop of politicians are all too willing to take advantage.

I think we had done a lot of good things in the past twenty years. We are not a perfect nation, but we do more good than bad by far.

We are in debt to the tune of $13 trillion(not the $250 billion the feds like to quote),we're mired in a war of choice that won't have an end any time soon, and most of the world hates us.
What do you think?

We remained free. We fought for what was right. We retained most of our values. We are still strong.
