-1+ (8z+4x) / (3z) - (2z+5x) / (4z)

The least common denominator is 12z, so:

-12z / 12z + (32z + 16x)/12z - (6z + 15x)/12z

Combine the numerators:

(-12z + 32z + 16x - 6z - 15x)/12z

Add like terms:

(14z + x)/12z

That's as simplified as it gets.

- 1 + ([8z + 4x] / 3z) - ([2z + 5x] / 4z)

The answer is (14z + x) / 12z.
