Never did like him...

And now that most of my friends also see the light, I get the joy of saying "I told you so"

I believe that Bush is a good person and has always had good intentions where the interest of Americans has been concerned. His "Cowboy UP" attitude has made him appear foolish at time and maybe a little arrogant, but I don't fault him for that. I don't believe that we can hold only Bush responsible for the things he is criticized for because he depended on the opinion of those he trusted and we all make mistakes. I don't understand this concept of saying so and so was the worst or best President ever because there are several Presidents that I didn't have the privilege of living during his tenure. Times change, people change...what's right now may not be right tomorrow. You just have to go with the flow...if you don't like the current Administration you have the right to vote and change it every 4 years. We are still the UNITED State of AMERICA and we will be the leading superpower on this planet for a long time. For those who think they could do a better job of running this great Nation of ours, all I can say is go for it. I'm sure Bush will be happy when the weight of this Nation is off his shoulders and on someone else's back.

Is it OK to be on the fence?
He's no saint, I'll grant you that, and he would have benefited from a speech class or two, but Clinton did a lot of incredibly stupid stuff that Bush inherited the consequences for and then 9/11 happened, so I think on a lot of levels that he's doing a great job under the circumstances. The smartest thing he ever did was put Colin Powell on his ticket. He held it together through the first four years, and the administration hasn't been the same since he left.
Given that we had Gore and Kerry as our other options, I think Bush was the best thing out there regardless of how well he's doing.

I like and support the President. Do I agree with all of his decisions? No. Did I enjoy being sent over to Iraq twice, NO, but I did manage to come alive both times and I am now debt-free (no more college loans HOO-RAY!!!) . I think he could have surrounded himself with better people to work with, and had he picked a better VP, SecDef and Asst.SecDef, he might have done a better job. War with Iraq was inevitable, from Day 1 of his presidency. He just needed an excuse. He got one with 9/11. I didn't like how strategic intel was spun to fit the situation, but now that we (America) is over there, we need to stay to make a better Iraq. Are soldiers dying there, you say (?) and what about them? Well, they volunteered and most (by now) knew they were going over to fight. So, I hope the historians don't paint him as much as evil incarnate as I imagine they will most certainly will, but he has saved us from another possible 9/11. I don't have the same assurance if a Dem gets elected in '08.

He is okay, only thing I disagree with him about is the Amnesty Bill and Social Security. Ever heard the phrase " do not miss the water until the well runs dry." That is what is going to happen in 09. When all of a sudden, we are left wide open to attacks, and no one with guts enough to take them on,on their soil.

I think the Dems share a large part of blame for the failure in Iraq. From day one they have worked actively against the war, providing moral and propaganda support to our enemies.

That being said, Bush's grand vision of Jeffersonian Democracy in the Middle East has failed, as I thought it would from the beginning. The surge is having good results, but it came 6 years too late.

The congressional investigations into Bush are farcicial, and nothing but political theatre. But Bush lost much repub support by his poor handling of the victory in Iraq, his support for flawed immigration bill, and his spending habits. The cracks started to show when he nominated Harriet Myers for the SC, and have spread.

Bush's decisions have been self-defeating. He's not the worst president ever, and still has a chance to save the situation in Iraq. But he has not been a successful president, and will be ranked in the middle or lower-middle of presidents.

I think he's one of the finest Predidents we have had. I am especially thankful he was at the helm when 9-11 happened.
Not only has he kept this nation safe from terrorists, but also from leftist liberal types.

I don't like him. He has no personality or humor. He sucks at his current job and sucked in his business ventures. Although you have to admire his ability to believe what he wants to believe regardless of the evidence against what he believes.

I don't like him.
The iraq was was a mistake that will be put in history books.
He left afghanastan before the job was done
instituted NSA spy programs that violate the constitiution
Turned the justice system into a mockery by hiring Alberto Gonzalez the liar. Fired good US attorneys so that they could be replaced with "loyal bushies". Had the name of a CIA operative leaked to the press. approved every single spending bill that the GOP congress sent to his desk causing one of the biggest budget deficits in american history. I could go on.

He is a good Commander-In-Chief, and I would be proud to serve under his administration. I retired while Clinton was in charge, didn't care much at all for him.
