I have my own GD opinion and I have a right to voice it! I believe that no matter who you are, or where your from you have a right to disagree. However I dont believe that anyone has the right to blame their misfortunes on everybody else....if you dont like Bush thats fine...But he IS the president of the UNINTED STATES OF AMERICA....I want to know what happened to all the flags and stickers and banners that supported our troops? Now all you hear is people trashing them and bashing them every time they get a chance. Whether you know it or not, everytime you say how stupid this war is and how stupid we are for being over there, you are saying all the deaths of our troops, loved ones, and friends is in vien. If we are over there for no reason then they are dieing for no reason. I am out raged I have family there and I would NEVER put them down....but you people do it every day. You let them know every day just how much you dont care about what THEY believe...they chose to be there.

Look my cousin and my Uncle never came home.....not because BUSH sent them there, but because no matter what the reason they were going to be men and stand up for their country. My family did not die in vain, you people are horrible, maybe you should have been the ones to go there.

The people who are against bush and think its all about oil, are the type of people who have no idea how to think for themselves and just repeat what they heard from someone else. They're also the type who will never have the balls to stand up and fight for themselves, they'de rather bad mouth the ones who do it for them. Sometimes I wish our country would let our guard down again, unfortunately it seems like it might take another 911 just so they can understand why we are there.
Nobody wants war not me, not you, not bush, no matter how bad everyone wants to avoid it there are people out there who will start it. I don't know about everyone else but if someone starts a fight with me I'm not gonna bi**h up and cry about it, im gonna do something about it, like bush did.

Jackie O, you sound very upset. You do have a right to voice your own opinion and so does everyone else. That's what's great about a democracy.
However, when the person who is supposed to be looking after your interests the most (the President) turns out to have been lying to you about all the reasons that you are involved in a war, people get very angry.
Saying that the war is wrong is NOT saying the deaths of all your troops (and ours and innocent civilians) are in vain and that they are being put down. What it is doing is stopping many, many more from being killed for a lie. It is our responsibility to speak up, just as it is yours to defend your family.
Bush lied to the world by insisting that Iraq was responsible for 9/11, and making the President accept responsibility for those lies is the responsibility of the American people and to send a clear, strong message that future Presidents should never be this irresponsible again!
You said it yourself, "no matter what the reason" they were going to stand up for their country. The reason is a lie. It doesn't at all reflect on the integrity of the troops. Sorry.

Well, I don't see anyone bashing our troops. In fact, most people support our young soldiers and want them to come home.
It's true that Bush and his cadre are very unpopular - with good reason. He has put our young men and women in harms way in Iraq, fighting a war that cannot be won. He invaded Iraq illegally and EVERYDAY he allows our soldiers to remain a target for every wingnut with an agenda.
There is no "winning" in Iraq - there never was even a remote possibility. Bush went to Iraq to get control of the oilfields...that is the only reason!
If you can support his actions, that is your business. Meanwhile, we have almost 4000 dead soldiers and thousands wounded and disabled - for nothing. They need to come home.....now.
Just a quick mention about flying flags and such. Flying a flag isn't necessarily patriotic and NOT flying a flag doesn't mean one is un-patriotic. Neither action has anything to do with "supporting our troops".

I'm just thankful that I live in a country where all of us can speak our mind and not have look over our shoulder. I don't like the war but I support our troops. I don't agree with everything Bush does but I support our president just like I did with Clinton and I didn't like him one bit. I disagree with most liberal thinking but I respect the fact that you have the right to your opinion and we can agree to disagree and then have a cup of coffee and talk about the recent baseball trades.

Please, please, please why ask a question here, then put everyone down for their opinion?
If you didn't want to hear what we have to say, then I say go elsewhere, because you are going to get replies, which is really what you want.
People view things differently and that doesn't make anyone more right or wrong over an issue, it just means there is a difference of opinions.
So grow up, accept the differences, and you will be a much happier person.
By the way, there are plenty of flags, stickers and support where I am, and I don't always hear bashing, only if someone brings it up.
I mean, really, if we wanted to, we could give you a hard time over your spelling, but we are not doing that!

I sort of see and agree with your point, and in part I don't completely. Whether soldiers die in vain or not, it's up to them... not really. Some kids enter any military branch out of love for the country and a sense of adventure. They want to help their country regardless of who is in charge, and willing to go to harm's way to help the country.
In a war, I think that a country must support their military as long as they're out there with medical and military supplies, and for the ones in charge to provide with the right training, intelligence and hard data as possible.
That doesn't make it right for US to fight someplace. People have a right to demand that US retires from that place and keep peace. I think that people have a right to demand to the country to retire from a war (it's supposed to be a democracy, remember? ). As well as some people might demand them to continue and stay on track.
Personally, I think that USA is doing a lot more harm than good in Iraq and should let the region to decide what's best for them, but I don't think they should just retire without any plans to make sure that no one stays behind.

I listen to what the Generals and our Service men and women say and ignore all the Bush hater's. When the the people that know what is actually happening over there change their minds I will. They have a right to their opinion but they have no right to swear and call names about anyone. When people resort to these antics it is usually a lack of knowledge!

I didn't vote for him, but he is still (unfortunately) my president. However, like you I have the right to free speech. With this right, I choose to dissent! You seem to equate not supporting the president with not supporting the troops.I support the troops. I want them back home safely, and OUT of Iraq NOW! I am disgusted by this president, and I wish that we had a more competent and caring leader, but alas I'm stuck with him until for a year and a half!

FACT: This is an open forum. People vent just like you do, so if you express an opinion, more people who disagree with you are more likely to post than those who agree with the opinion.
FACT: Polls show that people "support the troops".
FACT: Polls show that people "do not support the policy (of Iraq)".
FACT: Polls show that President Bush as of July 2007 has a rating lower than President Richard Nixon when he resigned from office due to Watergate.
These are all facts, I have not stated any opinions.
