Contact the medical board for your state. I've included a link to a page at the AMA which has links for the medical boards in all 50 states. The websites for most state boards have a "Physicians profile" section which allows you to obtain information about physicians licensed to practice in that state, including resolved malpractice suits, any disciplinary action that has ever been brought against him/her by hospitals and/or the state, and the current status of their license.

Note that there is nowhere to find a list of complaints that have been made against physicians. Complaints in themselves do not constitute negligence or malpractice. If a medical board receives enough complaints they do an investigation but until the investigation is resolved there is no public record available.

Contact your county or State medical association. They keep records of lawsuits, and perhaps any complaints.
