ok, so i started watching young & the restless and the bold and the beautiful over 10 yrs ago. but i stopped watching them for a while. i started watching Y & R this past friday, but i was also wondering if i should start watching B & B again? of course i would have no idea who half the characters are anymore (just like in Y & R) but i'm catching on. =)

Y&R may take a bit to catch on. But B&B is right were you left it, Brook Ridge, Taylor Ridge, Stephane in the middle. Throne without a woman, but after today maybe not for long, and Oh yes, let's not forget Stephane's (Whip Pup, Eric). They still haven't given him a backbone. And now they have brought Ashley over from the Y&R and I think she is having a mid-life criss, she is running around after Brook's little boy and her leftover, leftover, leftover, man.

Stick to the B&B. The writing on Y&R is steadily getting worse, with Phyllis looking like she is ready for prison thanks to this bloody extortion trial (and given all the felonies of the other characters, it seems as if they're going to be in that courtroom for at least five years straight!) Then there's this thing with the money that's landing Daniel and Kevin in the soup, Daniel and Lily may be breaking up because Daniel continually lies, and it looks like a wedge is going to be driven into Michael and Lauren as well, this among the horrid storylines of current! All I can say is Nick and Phyllis had better get back together soon and get romancing again, or else I'm not going to watch past the opening credits. If you continue to tape Y&R, that FF button is going to get one hell of a workout!

I say yes. The Baldwin family and Phyllis Newman are good reasons to watch Y&R.
Heather Tom is returning to the B&B joining Eileen Davidson who is playing Ashley Abbott.
Go for it, just tape the episodes first so that you can FF through some of the silly storylines.

BB is good but I will say that the roller coaster of Ridge/Brooke and the man of the hour still goes on...
there is the wonderful website called Mr. Smarty Pants (I think .com or .org). he watches daily and has archived logs of past shows..
just so you know: the actress who played the wonderful Sally died this year...there is no more Spectra...
currently there is this terrible actor who has hijacked the show, named Constatine or whatever...there is a singing storyline. I love music and I am a singer/actress...however, this one storyline is getting old!!!

The same thing that was happening 10 years ago on B&B is happening now. Stephanie is harrassing Brooke. Only difference is they're older and Brooke now has 2 set of kids. One set is grown and the other ones are little. Under 10 years of age.

I say don't watch either. Soap operas are addictive (I know because I taped/watched AMC and OLTL on and off from age 18 to 30). I came to the realization that even though I would watch them after work while I was cooking dinner/folding wash, etc., it was time that I could be watching other things I love, such as news and documentaries. The only fictional television I watch anymore is The Sopranos and a movie once in a while.
Treat each day as if it were your last day on Earth, because one day, you'll be right.

,YES,,, stay a loyal fan.. as for who the characters are?? after a couple weeks you will be all caught up and if you have any questions just go to CBS and you can catch up. Not too much going on B&B just the pheobie in love with her uncle,Brooke still sleeping with every Forrester and Stephanie still hung up on her son

I have watched Y&R since its beginning and also B&B.
It's entirely up to you as the characters have changed a lot. They are both great soaps.

Yes its always so easy to jump back in to soaps.
I dont watch B& B but I do watch Y&R and love it!!
