"I'll not bother to debate each item you have dead wrong on each item. See the movie and then you will have an informed judgment in order to have a conversation about the subject."
This was in response to electric cars mind you. But why do liberals feel they are the authority in all matters and conservatives just need to be silenced?
As a conservative Christian, I say to you that liberals do have a few valid points of concern and I would never try to shut down debate. When they are wrong like they are on things like abortion, Ill hear what they have to say about it but in the end GOD IS THE ONLY AUTHORITY!

Banana>What country do you live in? Liberals think they have the right to call a baby property of the mother to dispose of as she see fits until its born. Many of them deny objective morality. How can you deny Gods authority in morality and human life and then turn around and say "we would never take the place of God?"

Josh>How very atheistic of you. But I wasnt talking about politics or govt. I was asking a general Q of principle. Let me introduce to a truth. THERE ARE NO AUTHORITIES IN THIS LIFE, ONLY EXPERTS. (And you dont have to be a Christian to kno wthis) To be an authority means that you cant possibly be wrong thereby implying a state of perfection. My beef is, many libs grant themselves this divine immunity. Right or wrong? Unamerican or no?

The definition of a Democrat today is narcissism. With nothing bigger than themselves to believe in -- not G-d, not America and typically not children which a great many do not have for one reason or another and those who do typically consider them nothing more than playthings ala Madonna or pawns in their political activities ala Rosie O'Donnell. It is not a coincidence that one of the groups most likely to vote en mass for the Democrats are unamrried, childless women and children themselves (college kids).
With nothing bigger than themselves to believe in they become their own gods. And jealous gods at that. Jealous of those who would give their service to things like Jesus or America or their children. Their efforts are expended, then, trying to undermine others' belief in the things that take reverence away from them.
It's not surprising, then, to find so many of these narcissists are found in positions that basically demand "look at me!" "revere me!" "I'm like a god!!!"
So you'll find them larger than life on the giant movie screen, and bringing you "the truth" on the nightly news and being in position to lecture to the children in classrooms where they are they only ones to give voice to their beliefs.

I respect that your belief is that GOD IS THE ONLY AUTHORITY.
I don't agree with you though... and I am not a liberal. I am a moderate to conservative (a true conservative in the mold of Goldwater). I really rspect religion and the ideals of Christians but I also respect others for not accepting your statement. God may be the ONLY authority to you but since I follow the laws of this country then I accept a secular authority too. I also accept the Constitution to protect my civil liberties... God did not write the Constitution but I see it as a authority that is worth dying for... and I would not want the Constitution or laws of this nation to invoke God's authority. Men can govern themselves fine... and God can take care of the spiritual things that men embrace.
Suicide bombers and abortion clinic bombers believe that "God is the only authority..." Thank God that the majority of us don't take that thought to extremes and accept laws to govern us.

I agree with you to a point.
But what gave YOUR group the authority to shove YOUR interpretation of God's will down the collective throat of the people of the United States in the guise of legislation?
That is where this Catholic takes issue.
My view of God's will, your view of God's will, and the view of others can be completely different things. An NONE should have precedence over another in a country where there is freedom to do one's conscience without fear of persecution.

Good for you. When God, Christianity and the Bible becomes the Law of the Land in the United States of America, you can believe like you do.
Until such a day comes, and when it does, I'll be on the American side fighting you with every last breath in my body. Because anyone that sides with GOD as the ONLY AUTHORITY is clearly a religious zealot and does not abide by the laws of our land. That person is clearly in violation of not only the precepts of the seperation of Church and State, but is also placing an allegiance that is not our country higher than our country.
That, my friend, is as un-American as you can ever get.

Sorry but in this country called the United States of America, "God" had no Authority...the people do
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I'm sorry. I must have read over the I am God part of this response.
I have a brain and a (perhaps minimal) grasp of "logic" and the ability to comprehend what I read. If having a rational, informed opinion that differs from your equally rational, informed opinion makes me- in your opinion- trying to take the place of God, then God forbid.

You are so diluted and devoid of any common sense that your question is pointless. Liberals would never have the audacity to equate themselves to God, unlike Bush who claimed he was doing the "Lord's work".
