Russia plans on dropping a flag at the bottom of the arctic waters to claim and prove that it is part of the Russian terroritory. They predict there are vast amounts of havestable resources deep under the ice.

While the U.S. is planning on dominating space for military superiority and acquiring plentiful resources on the moon and beyond, is it possible Russia is planning on dominating Earth's ocean technologically for resources and military superiority?

Instead of trying to beat the U.S. in a space race, is it possible Russia is taking a different route to power? Technically speaking, who ever controls Earth's oceans does control the world, since 3/4th of the world is made up of oceans.

Space to Earth weapons are a lot more practical than Earth to Space weapons.

Yep -- good point.

But whoever controls oil controls the next 50 years. Whoever controls space controls the next 500 after that.
