Why are consevraties so down on gay adoption. The arkansas state legisture just defeated a bill banning gay adoption on the ground that a study conducted by a firm in arkansas said that the adopted children were'nt having trouble with gender identification and did just as well or better than there classmates in school and seemed to be normal children. so why are the conservaties so down on gay adoption when the kids seem to be fine??? isnt that who really matters??? is it because they sterotype homosexuals??? do they think they are all alcoholics who have one night stands all the time and just party??? all the people that i know like that are straight and single straight people are allowed to adopt. the study also showed that the children of single heterosexuals had more trouble in school than those with homosexual parents.

Many conservatives (not all) oppose homosexuality on religious grounds, and use that religious justification as a way to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation.

I have many gay friends and I'll tell you what... I wouldn't let a single one of them raise a child. The ones I know are whores and alcoholics though. lol But on the flip side there are many straight people I wouldn't let have kids either. So...
I personally find homosexuality foul and disgusting, but I don't base the decency of a human being off something as base as sexual preference.
I think the government should get out of it and let the people who run the adoption agencies make the decisions

because they are hypocrites.....Cons are constantly saying less government, less government, but they are okay with government interfering on certain issues. It is appalling. They would rather have a child shuffled from foster to foster, living an unstable life, and at 18 or 21 getting kicked out of the system with 1500 bucks and no place to live than living with two stable happy healthy loving parents of the same sex. It does not make any sense. You have to decide, if it really is no child left behind, then why are there tons of kids in the system, ready to be loved by anyone, not placed in same sex homes. How DARE the government Conservatives push their religious agenda onto parent less children.

Gay single individuals, and gay couples should be allowed to fully adopt children. It saddens me that homophobic politicians and religious leaders fight so hard to discriminate and use silly statements saying that children growing up with gay parents will automatically become gay. Or that a child of a same sex couple won't benefit like a child with a hetro set of parents. In my eyes it doesn't matter on the sexual orientation of the couple, but how much love, attention and positive re-inforcement they give to the child. How many kids in this world are screwed up from their hetro parents who've abused them, or simply fight with their spouses.
Gay individuals shouldn't be discriminated against, they should be entitled to every right that hetro sex individuals are. That means adoption, family, marriage, and so on.
Stop descriminating!

I thinks it terrible that some people would rather see a child living in a foster home with no real love and attention, than let a loving gay couple adopt. I'm sure the kid would much rather be living in a home where they could be loved and taken care of. We truly have our priorities mixed up.

regardless of proofs and studies, some people will hold to their beliefs to the death. They get something in their head and no amount of convincing wil change it. Which of course explains why people of particular religions, racial origins, and sexual orientations are forever going to be the the target of prejudice. Well, they wil be untill society as a whole becomes way more accepting of differences. My solution, ban clothes. It is hard to hate anyone when you are all naked together - hehe.

Children growing up with gay parents actually grow with a sense of self-respect and appreciation for others unlike themselves. Cons are against this just because they can't see beyond their nose and base everything on their bible, yet not on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Ancient words in the bible occasionally frown upon same sex relationships, hence, "conservative" angst towards a family comprising of same sex parents rearing a child.
