I think you mean planetary topography, or planet topograhy.

Like the two previous answerers said, it the topography of the planet........simply put. The elevations and geographical surface features (mountains, valleys, ravines, volcanic flows, etc.)

Venus was "surveyed" by radar, due to the complete cloud cover. Mars is presently being surveyed by Mars Global Surveyor.

The topography of a planet is the surface contours - flat plains, river valleys, steep mountains, etc.

topography is a map that shows depth and height lines in comparison to sea level. a mountain will look like a bunch of rings, and things like the great plains will just be soft, wavy lines. the closer the rings, the steeper the elevation.
