Don't you think it is kind of ironic to be asking yahoo how to not ask yahoo? :-)
The word addiction has become quite a fad. We seem to use it for almost anything. But the most important criteria to ask yourself is whether this yahoo and other computer acivities have resulted in some dysfunction. In other words, hampered you or hurt you in your life, socially, vocationally, financially, etc. etc.. in some significant way. Do you feel that you have missed out, lost out on some opportunities? Wake up the next day with some regrete? guilt? etc..
If so, it might be a problem, but one of the major steps in overcoming this problem is the awareness that it is a problem. You awareness suggests to me that there is no one better qualified to solve this problem than yourself.
If your not inclined to go "cold turkey" , than I would suggest you try to answer questions for others rather than ask. Perhaps you would begin to feel the confidence in your capabilities that is erroded by your "co-dependency".

Any addiction is difficult to overcome because we hear a siren song that makes us believe we want the addiction. No man can give up entirely that which he is convinced he either needs or wants. To truly lose an addiction one must see the lie the addiction is based on first. Many Blessings!

Tink (aka Tinkerbell). You need to follow my earlier advise and get out. I just bought a bicycle. Everyday since I've gotten it I ride it. It's not always my first choice, because I live on the second floor and I have to carry it upstairs and down, but everytime I take it out I feel good and glad to take the trouble.
I'm going to Panama and Costa Rica in three weeks. I could spend the money on buying a new car, or getting so more things but I choose to take it for an experience.
I too was hooked on Y!answers for a while. But I realized there's a whole world out there that I can experience in real time, face to face. My job is dull, I make more money than I need and I only work 5 hours a week. (poor me!). I have instead chosen to go to a local college and spend my time learning new subjects. And lucky for me I don't care about grades anymore!
live life! Make your dreams a reality. Don't waste your time on the internet unless it helps you to fulfill your dreams!

Hmm well its not really hurting any one to post questions. As long as its not going as far as, should i go out or what should i have for lunch. Basically just cut down on going on your PC, limit yourself to how long you want to go on the computer for each day and stick to it. Its not a big deal realli, i think some people (me included) have really addictive personalities and habits become addictions. You just have to learn to curb it and not allow it to go to far. Its more then likely another habit will come along and that will be your new addiction. Just realise what you're like and keep an eye on yourself.

Try answering a few questions, everytime you feel the need to ask a question, answer one. Perhaps you will taper off your asking addiction an replace it with a answering addiction, okay I see where that could be a problem, sorry.

I never ask questions.
If I ever do, I use Google. It saves time and stupid answers.
