It is an old house, about 65 years old,we bought 31/2 years ago. We had other windows that were also stuck but have managed to get a few of them open.

It appears that moisture might have swollen the wood. Use a hair dryer on it to remove the moisture and dry out the wood.

Humidity both outside and inside shower tub etc. Have swollen the wood window.
Try tapping the window frame with a soft mallet,if this doesn't work GENTLY pry up on the bottom of the window frame with a flat pry bar. If it still won't budge remove inner window stops and remove frame and see were it is sticking.
Wooden windows are pretty finicky when they get old. They must open and close straight not crooked.

It could be the humidity is causing it to swell.
Either wait til cold weather and try it. or try making the room colder to see if that unswells the window.
Force more cold air into the room from other rooms (closing off those vents) and see if that helps.
You can also try pouring liquid was down the sides of the windown and jiggle them until it slides up .It could also be the window sash rope is broken.
