You should have made that observation before approaching the intersection. When driving you have to pay attention to whats ahead, and whats around you. Observations of possible people crossing and estimating if a car looks like it might run a red light.

If the light is green, you have to also make yourself aware if there is approaching emergency vehicles.

Your eyes should be constantly moving when driving. This includes scoping out an intersection before you get to it and as you are driving through it. Think if an emergency vehicle was crossing a red light and you weren't looking . . .

Yes. People or vehicles in the intersection ahead of you have the right of way. Also, its a bad idea to run into a big truck.

YES!!! for the love of god when driving dont trust anyone. always look around, cause there are people not paying attention and go running right through and you could be that person trusting green lights and get t-boned and damage your car and or you. it doesn't happen often, but its better to be safe then sorry. even at a stop sign or yield, always look, ALWAYS!

ALWAYS CHECK! it is your life be carefull with it ...you only get one...lots of drivers are drunk...on cell phones...distracted etc...i have been a defensive driver for 40 years i have saved my own life many times by being alert at all times!

check. i've been doing a bad job on checking but my dad got into a wreck like this. it was green and he went and some dumbass sped and hit him. totalled his truck. no one was hurt
