I think my name is too preppy, and I hate preps. I am emo, and I would like an emo-ish nickname. My friend is named Obstratia, and my other friend is named Esperance. I really want a very very unusual nickname. Please help me!

why are you so afraid to just be you? why do you need to fit into an emo "box"? if you have to have the right outfit, the right hairstyle and color, listen to the right music, have the right name, etc to fit in with any group, why would you want to?

i'm not just talking about emo. this goes for freaks, preps, etc. be you ~ that's who you do best. don't conform and dear God don't compromise!

Well this is a bit thoughtless, inconsiderate and childish.
You are EMO, you will grow out of it, I hope.
How old are you?
Give it a few years and see what happens when you 30 and your still an emo, not that I have seen any emo's over 20 with brains.
You will look back and laugh about what a crazy idea you had.
You can always get a job at an emo shop and work there till your 65.

Think a bit more on this when your a bit older and your emo freinds arnt emo no more.

Be careful of the nicknames you choose. You will eventually grow out of being emo, and you don't want to have a nickname that can't make the transition with you. Try to find something that isn't too emo so when you are older you won't go to a class reunion and hear people calling you by a name that suddenly isn't so cool anymore.

I am deeply offended!!!!!!!

My daughter is Kimberly Joy. And I still love that name. People have called her Kimbo, though. Is that the kind of nickname, you're looking for? Her spanish nickname is Reina because connotations for Kim say royal and reina means queen. Kimberly is not preppy, not at all. It's sporting, entertaining, witty and smart. I have a feeling that no name I can think up in my frail feeble 45 yo mind is going to please you. Your friends can't help?

Most nicknames are given at an early age, and usually by a family member. This generation is in such a hurry to "be here" without even really "being here" yet!

Your name is pretty. Your parents must have had a reason for chosing it. Go through a name book and pick one out for yourself. It would be to hard to give someone I don't know a nickname.

Just take a shortened form of Kimberly. But instead of Kim, go by Berly, but say it with a Boston accent, so it sounds like "Boily". How Emo is that?
