Just ignore her. Chances are she with her mates trying to act 'cool' in front of them. She was stupid in insulting you and it is annoying and hurtful.

Next time you see her just cross over the road and if she continues to hassle her then maybe find out where she lives so you can speak to parents or police.

Chances are she won't say anything - she was probably wanting a cig so badly that having no light annoyed her but she had no excuse to go on at you.

Ignore her. Who cares if she insulted you? Are you a child? Are you not mature enough to chalk up an insult to someone else's ignorance and just move on with life? If it makes you feel better, then insult her back, but honestly, I don't know why any grown up would bother. She is not worth it.

I know it made you angry and quite rightly so but if it happens again I would ignore her or cross the street. Nowadays, even when it's girls, they could be carrying a knife or something. If she continues to bother you, contact the police.

Take away her TV, Radio, iPod, Computer, phone (all the essentals in a teenagers life) for a week and tell her that it will be doubled each time she insults you.

Your rights end at the end of your outstretched arms. You have no right to physically harm anyone. You certainly have the right to freely express your own opinions and attitudes, and can do so with someone who has insulted you.

either walk away or tell her off.

if she is old enough to be asking for a lighter and insulting you, then she can take the heat

You should just ignore her, remember she doesn't know you and you don't know her, so don't let it bother you, i have been in the same situation, i ignored it, cause what went through my mind was i don't know how you are and you don't know who i am, and it didn't bother me at all, all i said bring it on.. just ignore them

Your 'right' is to be a grown up and rise above it, sticks and stones and all that.
