I think Whoppi is a good choice. It seems to me that she is not too crazy or has a lot of patience with Elisabeth. This is a good thing I think...she will be able, as well, given now the responsibility, to moderate with a little firmness. She will probably not tolerate the talking over that the show is so famous for. Given a chance, I think she will do well and enjoy herself. If the panel is enjoying the show and there is no dissention, then we can all enjoy it, Barbara will be happy and so will the guests. I hope, as we have heard, that Sherri Sheppard will join in. She has a wonderful speaking voice, and is polite, informative, funny and can stand up to them all to give her opinion without sitting there like a bump on a log, afraid to have her say....Good on ya, Whoppi!!

Whoopi is okay, better her than a conservative. But like many I would have preferred Kathy Griffith. Barbra probably didn't want her because Kathy has offended a lot of major stars plus, Kathy lives in L.A. and I don't think she'd want to move to NY. Also, Kathy isn't so D-list anymore and is working A LOT. Whoopi was at one point very political but she doesn't seem so much anymore and that's disappointing I would have liked to see someone really shut Elizabeth down. Rosie's views were too radical and Joy just seems so poorly informed. Kathy would have wiped the floor with Elizabeth.

I am glad that Whoopi took the spot. I can't stand Kathy Griffin

No. Rosie was annoying but controversial and brought life to that show as well as Star. Either Kathy Griffith or Roseanne would have been better choices since they are also outspoken at times. Whoopi will just fade in with the rest of those cackling yentas.

I'm glad.
Whoopie is a household name. She is a star but never became a superstar and is always looking for work - she's done radio and game shows, getting a national talk show sounds just about right.

However, I too am a Kathy Griffin fan and I'd like to see Kathy in there too.

I was hoping that they were going to announce 2 co hosts.. I was hoping for Sherri Shepard actually!

My thought though is Barbara announced her as the new moderator.. I wonder why Elisabeth or Joy don't open and close the show????
