I have a wooden window in my shower, and as you might have guessed, it is beginning to rot. This is a rental house that I have just moved into, and I'm wondering what I can do about it. I have spray frosted the actual glass to prevent peeping toms (lol), and it's beginning to wear away as well. The molding around the window is actually plastic, so it's waterproof. The only problem is the actual window. Is there something like blurry glass or something that I can buy and insert in front of the window and caulk around? Or if you have another idea, please share it. I don't want to stain it or try to repair the window as it is already beyond repair. Thanks!

I lived in a rental with a window in the shower once too. Since you are a renter and I'm sure you don't want to invest much in the fix...you could do what I did. Get a small curtain rod (the width of the window) and a vinyl shower curtain...buy some of the rings to hang the curtain on the rod and cut the curtain to size. This will keep the window from getting too much moisture and mask the ugly rotting wood. Good luck!

Get a Venetian Blind, try and get a second hand one in a Garage sale or Charity Shop. You dont want to be spending a lot of Money specially if the House is only Rented, and get a Plastic Blind not a Paper one as it is a Shower Room.

Your landlord needs to get to that repair before the damage spreads to the framing around the window. I'm surprised that he hasn't replaced it with glassblock or a vinyl framed window. Providing privacy is easier. You can get a wide variety of decorative window films that just stick onto the glass. Here's one site, as an example of what's out there.

Home Depot carries a product that looks like stained glass but is self stick vinyl. I forget the name of it but it comes in large panels you would have to cut to fit your window panes. At our store it's on a display rack near the window coverings.
It's really quite beautiful. Some of the pieces look like watercolor paintings.

I had the same problem in my old house. I ended up putting a curtain rod above the window and cutting a plastic shower curtain to fit it. It really helped to keep most of the water off the window.

On this one day a while back I thought that people can hear me think during school, I was kinda in a weird mood that day but I convinced myself that it wasn't possible because I started thinking about the baddest things and started imagining weird stuff. Of course nothing happened, nobody even looked at me. Stop taking antidepressant drugs maybe its a side effect or something. If you are depressed go smoke weed, its a hell of alot better than killing urself.

Yes, the obscure 'plastic' can be bought at Home Depot and scored with a knife to the size of the window area, and you can silicone it in front of the window (the front facing the shower), then remove it when you move.

So you don't lose your security deposit, I don't recommend permanently etching the window. However, go to the discounters in the contact paper aisle and they sell a type of contact sticky vinyl that is clear, but has a pattern that obsures being able to see through it. You can stick it on the window and peel or razor it off when you leave.

2 x 4 plastic that is made for ceiling light fixtures would work as a diffuser and make it not possibly to peep. can be cut with a straight edge and a razor blade, but takes a little practice.

Any glass supply store will cut you a piece of obscure glass to your dimensions. I take it that was the main part of the question I don't quite understand why your putting it "in front of "the window.
