I felt the need to add details after reading some of the idiotic responses Im getting.

It is evident Yahoo Answer is full of republicans with biased answers. im asking, if republicans push Religion, family values, and that stuff, then why is it they love war? and yes, for all you who deny it, they do love war. Reagan loved the escalating arms race with the soviets, Bush Sr bombed Iraq, and now his idiot of a son bombed there for no reason (i dont have to explain further, u see the mess that America is now in b/c of this)

so bottom line, your wrong. Im a poli sci student for one. so take ur right-wing biased views and shove them.

This could well be a very ignorant question. Nobody in their right mind loves to go to war. Nobody, they defend the country so people like you can be free. Take it easy man.

Now you gonna say this, That you are a student of POLITICS, Read here kid, Bush Sr. Had his reasons, Why don't you ask the people in Kuwait why Bush Attacked Iraq back then? Ok buddy, next time make sure your professors know what the hell they are talking about, because apparently they have done a poorpisss work with you. Learn as much then ask away.

We believe in war when there is a threat to the US. We do not want the US to look like whimps. We would rather fight to protect our "family values" than let them be destroyed in a petty compromise. Its not that we love war, we love the US, and want it to be as safe as possible, and this usually requires military action of some sort. You can talk and compromise all you want, but you will ultimately lose somewhere.

Are you really telling everyone you can't conceive of why a war might be necessary for people who love their families and the things that represents?

I'm a democrat. I also have a family.

My family escaped Islam in the 1950's.

I can think of lots of reasons for this war.

You need to pay attention more to history to understand why war is sometimes necessary. Better minds than yours (or mine) have pondered this question. Picking and choosing only those who have one view rarely educates.

Let's look over the last 100 years, and play who was in office when...

WWI - Woodrow Wilson - Democrat
WWII - FDR - Democrat
Korean War - Truman - Democrat
Vietnam - JFK - Democrat
Grenada (If you can call it a war) - Reagan - Republican
Panama - GHW Bush - Republican
Gulf War I - GHW Bush - Republican
Bosnia - Clinton - Democrat
Somalia - Clinton - Democrat
Gulf War II - GWBush - Republican
Afghanistan - GWBush - Republican

Dems lead 6 to 5 in getting us to put our boys in harms way

Hey "who cares what you think" you forgot WW1 - Woodrow Wilson Democrat and a progressive.
The Mexican American war was Teddy Roosevelt - Republican.
Does the Cold War count? - we could credit Truman but hey they all bought into that one.

Nobody seems to be answering why the US gov't loves wars, but I'd guess it's good business...$,$,$. It crosses political lines.

I understand what your asking and it does seem they love war, they don't but it seems that way!
They as I hate to admit just have the balls to not care what the rest of the world thinks, that is sometimes a good thing, not always but sometimes. I do not agree with the war we are in right now, but I do think we should be in a war now at this moment. We are just in the wrong country, that's all. We should be fighting yes but not this war!
They believe in all those things with a warped mind but they think about all of that.
Plus you know we are talking about the same group who have issues with all sorts moral issues. I think morality is one thing they cannot use right now. Who's gonna believe them on morality? LOL

Sometimes you have to fight to protect your loved ones. If your family is attacked, do you love them by watching them get raped and murdered? I think that Republicans see the war as a response to the 9/11/01 attack, and preemptive of future attacks.

Brian, he only knows what he's taught...and 100 to 1 odds his professor is an old school commie.
