my best friend since 7th grade is muslim/bangali. she and her parents have a very estranged relationship, her father is abusive and he hardly works and makes her support the household. while her mother blames her for everything and holds resentment towards her because shes darker than her sister. Any way, ive always been there to support her with her problems, when she ran away twice, and i even helped her bring it to the police when the were beating her, but this time i dont think i can help. you see this summer she went to bangladesh to see family and i had a bad feeling about this 'vacation' and i got a call at 3 lastnight that proved me right, there forcing her to stay there and marry someone she doesnt know (shes only 18) ill never see her again and she wants me to help her but i dont know how, all i can offer is my prayers. i cant even call her back because i dont want get her in trouble because her parents dont like me and they practice black magic.. how can i be a good friend?

First of all, you may need to furnish some details about your friend before any help can be pooled and she gets proper treatment under the very strong law against cruelty to girls and women enacted some 10 years ago.
Believe me, and I'm from Bangladesh with three grown up daughters of ours, that girls in the cities of Bangladesh do not have to have that kind of fear about their 'liberty'. But your assessment would be right only if she has been confined in any remote village by her parents. We hear such stories involving with mostly people who migrated from Sylhet district of Bangladesh to the UK for over decades now.
I may bring her plight to the notice of a few human rights organizations, including those exclusively dealing with the women and girls, and see to it that some kind of legal and moral help reaches her before it is too late.
If you feel like providing more details of your friend's last known address in Bangladesh and also some follow-up information needed by these NGOs and government bodies who are very much active to help unfortunate girls and ladies to get justice and some kind of assistance so that they are saved from abusive parents or relatives.
Hope your friend gets back among you and into her freedom soon.

Maybe you could get her address, send her a plane ticket back to where you are. Help her get out of there.
Oh that is so sad. Maybe you should go talk to the police to see if there is anything they can do... or if they can give you some suggestions.

You sound like a wonderful friend. Try to write to her, and let her know that you care about her. That should give her some comfort. I feel so sorry for her too. Let her know that you are there and she is not alone. Prayers are good too. Maybe a miracle will happen with your prayers. It did for me when I was going through difficult times. Good luck.

If she is a U.S. citizen, you can call the Embassy and see if they can help her get back to the States. If she is not a citizen, there's not a lot you can do unless she can find a way to get back here on her own.

This may be a long shot, but if she's US citizen, tell her to go to the us consulate and ask to be returned to the US for reasons of being afraid and being forced to marry under duress.

Tell your friend to get out of there!! It's not safe there plus if she is 18 years old, she doesn't need to deal with that BS anymore. My only other suggestion to you is to let her stay with you against her parents wishes because they obviously don't care about her. If she is your friend, help her out.
