The number is the part that goes around the rib cage. 36 inches around. The letter is the cup size.

The number is the size from the front to the back and doesnt have to do with how big your boobs are. Like if a woman has a broad back and small boobs she will be a 36 B or soemthing like that.

HOW TO MEASURE:
1. BUST Measure under the arms around the fullest part of the bust.

don't ask me how i know this. But the 36 in part is the woman's chest measurement like when we buy a top and the letters go up in inches from the chest. ie A-1 inch ,B-2 inch.............................G-a massive 7 inches.
