Well Liberals, to put it politely, won't go to the trouble of actually researching things when they can have an opinion all pre-packaged for them by the purveyors of MTV-like media. Hence, I doubt any would read the new definition anyway, so we're going to need colorful pictures to help them along.

Let's just draw a new, accurately descriptive mascot for the Liberals, and that can be the definition of their party. It will be a hybrid animal that:

* runs from danger like a gazelle
* buries its head in the sand like an ostrich
* changes colors like a chameleon
* lives without a brain like a jellyfish

It certainly would NOT be what is in the current dictionary, by Daniel Webster or any other dictionary.

I would say, I would have to define today's Liberal as -

Anyone or groups of persons in favor of Abortion(infanticide), in favor of Sodomized marriage, Socialized medicine (depletion before supply and demand), Tax hikes on the middle, and upper class, Anti-Christian, Anti-family, Socialist education policies, which would include removal of God from all participant activities.

About the same definition as Communism and Socialism I would say. That best describes Liberal.

Protector of the constitution, cares for people more than big business, cares for fiscal responsibility not deficit spending, cares for the working class, and cares for a transparent government. These are some of the definitions.

Someone who advocates for liberty -- personal freedom, civil liberties, freedom of choice, and economic freedom.

Liberalism opposes socialism (govt regulation of business) and opposes conservatism (govt regulation of conduct).

Most liberals are progressives, advocating change towards more personal freedom and better protection for civil liberties.

Those definitions are pretty much from the dictionaries -- sadly, most people on the conservative side seem to use the term as an insult for anyone they don't like, which has rendered the term effectively meaningless when they use it.

part of the problem with our wacky political system is that most people couldn't come up with one that made sense, and wasn't just a blatant rip on liberals (i.e. they love to get abortions, and hate jesus)

conversely, the same would apply to someone trying to define conservative.
