ifi its FWD, the belt will either be on the passengers, or drivers side of the car. usually the passengers side. if its RWD, the belts will be right behind the fans and front bumper.

rwd means rear wheel drive meaning the power from the engine is spinning the rear wheels to make the car move. you will have a drive shaft under the car connecting the transmission to the rear differential. fwd means the front wheels power the car through two little shafts from the transmision or trans axle to the front wheels.

Your question states that they said "fits RWD or FWD". That means it fits either. You can look under the car at the rear axle. If there is no shaft going forward to the engine, it's front wheel drive.

Look underneath, if ther is a hollow tube about 3 or 4" in diameter going right down the centerline of the car to the rear axle and the axle has a bulge in the middle it is rear wheel drive.
Or, get on a gravel road and jump on it, see which end spins, thats more fun.

Look under the car and see if the axles are in the front or there is a driveline to the back axle. Aren't all Brougham's RWD?

It mostly has to do with engine orientation. Your car is a V6 or a V8.. Which way does the valley of the "V" point to ? the front or the side. If it points to the front you have rear wheel drive. If it points side to side, you have a front wheel drive.

Its a rwd. Another way to tell is to lift the car and step on the gas to see which wheels spin.

just look at the engine facing the trunk... if the engine is horizontal its front wheel drive... if it is vertical then it is rear wheel drive... either that or look under the car for a differential...
