Only if the couple wants it to work. Otherwise--no. But then again, even if it doesn't work, it can sometimes help them reach a negotiated settelment which is better for all concerned.

I've never heard of a court ordering a couple to marriage counseling but I would say that unless two people BOTH want the marriage to work and are willing to go to counseling and work on the marriage that it will fail. Court order notwithstanding. No one can make you love someone and remain married, because if you think about it, what kind of marriage would that be? A wife or husband being "forced" to stay married would be one miserable mate.

Nothing works if your heart isn't in it. Just like the courts can't legislate morality, they can't order relationships. And it shouldn't need to be court ordered. If there were problems and the two of you love each other enough to try, you should have gone to counseling before.

ANY counseling is only as good as the effort put into it.
You both show up, willing to save your marriage whatever it takes, it's gonna work. If one of you goes in thinking it's a waste of time, then neither of you will get anything out of it.

Well it really depends on the husband and wife, if they want to save there marriage then yes, it will work but they have to work hard, the counceling alone won't save a marriage!

My husband had to go with his ex-wife and he told me it made everything worse because they had so many issues. And there were secrets each of them were keeping but they came out in counseling.

No, why would you think it might? Court Ordered indicates one or both paries is uninterested which means waste of money.

Only if the couple involved are willing to give it a chance.
Anything is possible....if you try...and truly want it.
