does the rookie think he can really throw at least 25 TDs and take the raiders to the playoffs, he acting like he's going to do that. I mean if he shows that this upcoming season or the next then I see reason why but really..I heard that he wouldn't even sign autographs for free at the ceveland free autograph signing unless fans buys his photos or buy previous signed photos. Look at Joe Thomas, he was drafted higher and he didn't even hold out, Quinn is acting like he is Marc Bulger who just held out but Bulger is a probowler, bulger may not be the best QB but geeze, he's not a rookie. For a rookie who hasn't prove anything in the NFL to come in on a contact hold out is silly.

Because he thinks he's worth more money than Cleveland does. Quinn wants to get as much up front as he can so he has plenty in the bank when he becomes a big BUST.

It's a pride thing. His pride was hurt tremendously on draft day when he fell all the way to 22. His agent had him convinced that he was going to be a top 10 pick and so now he's holding out for top 10 money, even though he dropped down severely. Let's face it, he really isn't even a 1st rounder - even though the Browns traded up to get him in the late first - he would have been a second round pick. The guy should take his lumps, sign his contract, and start holding a clipboard. He won't play this season anyway because Romeo Crennel's job is on the line. He will go with experience in an attempt to keep his job.

swingman258, I think Ms. West meant the pick that the Cowboys now have in next years draft. Get a clue.
Anyway, its the trendy thing to do in the NFL. Hold out and get as much money as you can. You cant really fault them for that but at the same time they will make more money in one year then some of us will make in a lifetime. So, why are we even worried about this whole thing?

Maybe he's still trying to pretend that he doesn't really have to play for the Browns.
And for the 49ers fan above, the 49ers have signed all their rookies. It's easier when they are movtivated by the idea of making the playoffs. Patrick Willis and Joe Staley are complete studs who didn't want to miss a day of camp. Nolan knows how to draft for character. Staley actually just told his agent "Just get a deal done and get me to camp on time." That's the kind of guy you want on your football team.

Once again the people on this site have no idea what they are talking about. First round picks sign 5 year contracts. If Quinn signs a contract for the 22nd player drafted he will be grossly under paid as a starting QB in the 3rd-5th years of the contract. They have to put in bonus' for him becoming a starter. Cleveland will not put in the bonus so he isn't going to sign.

Because he is arrogent and believes he should be paid top dollar. When obviously 21 other teams thought other wise. He will be a bust. The Browns gave up a sure shot at McFadden to get Quinn. Their GM and Coach will be fired after this season because my guess is the Browns are going to make Dallas have the #1 overall pick in the draft.
*Edit*
swingman258- I am talking about next years draft. The Browns gave up next years first round pick, which will probably be a top 5 pick to the Cowboys to trade back into the first round to get Quinn. Did you even watch the draft?

First of all, Brady Quinn went to the Cleveland Browns. Brady Quinn is probably holding out because he played at Notre Dame and had a decent career there, he probably thinks he actually deserves a big contract.

Aside from Swingman not realizing that the person meant that the Browns giving up next years first rounder (which will probably be very high)
He and Burnt Sienna are dead on.
This whole thing is like the ESPN commercials where people are talking sports out of their butts.

He thinks hes better than he really is. He was good at Notre Dame, not great. Why do you think he went all the way to the 22nd pick?
I agree, a hold out is silly.

He and his agent are waiting to see how much LaMarcus Russell of the Raiders will sign for. For whatever illusion he is carrying, he believes he is the best QB in the draft and should be paid accordingly even though he really fell down on draft day. He will be a big bust, possibly worse than Ryan Leaf.
