What Las Vegas Hotel is better, The Luxor or NYNY?

They are about the same in cost. I am trying to plan a bachelor party for 4 guys in their late 20's. What is the better choice.

If you guys get drunk which you probably will...the Luxor is not the place to go. I swear, I got lost 5 times trying to get to my room and it was one of the worst experiences ever.

I don't spend a lot of time in the room but man, when you wanted to get there it was a pain.

By-the-way, the best time for a Bachelor party is Palms or Hardrock. If the price is too high stay at New York. I would party at the other two mentioned for sure.

When I go to Vegas I only stay at the Luxor or NYNY - funny that you are deciding between these two. Here are the things I love about each of them:

1. Luxor - this casino has a HUGE pool and has about every game that you want to play (including a nice poker room). It also has a pretty cheap buffet compared to the other mainstreem hotels, and the rooms are very nice and its cool being in a hotel that has slanted ceiling b/c it is in the shape of a pyramid. You can get rates near $70-80/night with early bookings during the week, and ~ 150-180/night on holidays/wkends

2. New York New York - This hotel always has deals and has a lot of great bars and restaurants, and the people that stay here seem generally younger. The games are great here (no poker room) and the atmosphere is fast and loud (so if you want a quieter hotel this is not for you). Price is around $80-90/night early booking/wkdays, $150-170/wkends.

With that said - I would say I give the SLIGHT (very slight) advantage to Luxor - the pool and bars there are just a little better (especially now with the new remodeled bars and lounges) and it is just a little nicer. You win either way though - wish I was going. Hope this helps.

For what you are talking about doing (bachelor party), I would prefer Luxor, for one main reason. The pool at Luxor is very nice. If you are not staying at the Luxor, you may not use the pool. NYNY offers a little bit more (SportsZone, rollercoaster, better bars), but you don't have to stay there to go to those places. You have to stay at the Luxor to use their pool. And the two places are just two doors down from each other (there is a free tram to take you to Exacliber, then it is an easy walk over the pedestrian bridge to NYNY).

If you have to choose between the two of those, Monte Carlo has nicer rooms, Luxor has better nightlife, so it kind of depends on your preference. Monte Carlos only club is Diablo, which is nothing special, Luxor has LAX and cathouse which are both very nice. Monte Carlo is farther north on the strip, so it's less walking if you planned to walk to a different nightclub. If you're planning on going to shows, Luxor also has more to offer; Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Fantasy, etc. If you're going to stay at the Luxor, opt for a tower room over the pyramid room, the standard rooms in the pyramid seem smaller. The only thing interesting about the pyramid is the elevators ride on an angle.

NYNY for sure. The casino is awesome, they have Coyote Ugly, Bar at Times Square and ESPN Zone along with other cool restaurants and bars. The view from the room is great and it's an awesome location to walk over 1 of 2 bridges to MGM or Excalibur. Fairly easy walk to hotels like Bellagio, Paris, and Planet Hollywood in the middle of the strip.

I like the Luxor in general but it was just too dark for me when I was walking around inside. When you are inside and looking up at the pyramid it is just gray and looks old. I would recommend going to their buffet though.

I've stayed at both, and I like NYNY better. It has more of a party atmosphere.

Realistically though - how much time are you planning on spending in the room?

I really like the Luxor. I've stayed at other hotels on the strip. And hands down I feel that the Luxor is one of the best valued hotels on the strip. Hope this helps! Have-Fun!

NEW YORK NEW YORK hand down :)

i stayed at luxor, and though the room wasn't TOO small, but it still wasn't enough space for me. just what i think. and NYNY has better entertainments in the hotel itself.

I think that NY-NY would be the place to go. It's has a better atmosphere and is a bit more fun than the Luxor. There are plenty of hot spots to go to in the NY-NY, like Coyote Ugly and the Irish pub. Or the roller coaster. ;) If you wanna cough up the dough, there's always Zumanity, too!

I vote for the Luxor. I was just there a little over a month ago and it was definitely worth every dollar spent. Good luck! Have a fabulous time!
