They are in the mix now and have a shot but it is going to be difficult for them after losing Utley for a period of time.

very slim. The consensus pick for the NL is NY and ATL greatly improved their team prior to the trading deadline. PHI's pitching is a mess - even if they move Myers back to the rotation - and though he made multiple moves, Gillick didn't bring in any impact players at the trading deadline to put this team ahead of the Mets or Braves. Their offense is great if even semi-healthy but they don't have the pitching to finish higher than third in the NL East. With Pedro coming back soon the Mets are going to be very difficult to beat and the Braves have an great lineup and adequate staff for a run to the postseason. This Philly team will suffer the same fate as the M's from the early 90's and the Rangers of ... well, the past fifteen+ years (plenty of offense but no pitching). Maybe next year, Phillies fan...

Honestly, I like their chances. Their pitching is coming off the DL and should improve, and they added Kyle Lohse who should help a little. They have a great offense with Howard, Utley, Rollins, Rowand, and Victorino, and they traded for Iguchi to backup. The only problem I see is the Braves, as they got bullpen help and a big bat in Mark Teixeira. Even though they lost a great prospect in Saltalamacchia, he really hasn't been playing because of Brian McCann, so basically, I think they have a chance.

right now they are only 1 game back but 3 teams to leap frog over. they have to stay healthy & get better pitching & straighten out their bullpen. Alfonseca is not the answer especially since Octavio Dotel was there for the taking.
Phils could have given them Geary or 2 prospects for him.
i think they will fall 2 games shy of the wildcard.

Pretty good. NL wildcard race is too close to determin at this time. They have a good shot at it, but my money in on the padres or cubs.

Probobly as good as anyone else in the hunt. I will say the Braves have significantly improved their chances with the trading deadline acquisitions. They may now be the favorites to win the east. Only time will tell.

they have 2 chances, slim and none... Mets are too good to be overtaken and the Braves just loaded up and are making their move... Philies didnt do anything significant enough to stay in the race and losing their sparkplug didnt help either...
