I'm not much of a shopper, but I succumbed to an ad for professionally fitted lingerie and spent $72 for a new bra. It's the first time I've ever been fitted for one, and I found that for the past 25 years, I've been wearing the wrong size. The new one was so comfortable! I went to a department store and bought four more (cheaper models, don't you know!).

An occasional kahlua is an indulgence, too. I'm doing more of the driving, so I can't have a drink when we eat out, but sometimes I'll have one in the evening after we kick off our shoes.

You're all going to think I'm nuts, but I love to bake.

Specialties are:

Breads: Garlic, Olive, Perfect White, French and Italian, pizza crust.

Cobblers: Blackberry, Cherry, Peach/Apricot, Apple, Mixed Berry, Blueberry, Strawberry.

Cakes: Quadruple Fudge Brownie (My Blue Ribbon Prize Winner), Washington Square Fudge, Mango, Carrot (I use a full pound of carrots in this one), German's Chocolate, and my own specialty cake I have named "Sin".

Another of my indulgences is making homemade jelly and preserves in the flavors of: Strawberry, peach, apricot and anything else that happens to suit my fancy. It seems to go quite well with the Buttermilk biscuits I make.

And I love doing homemade pickles of all kinds from my Grandmother's recipes.

The real indulgence is that I make everyone leave me totally alone while I'm doing this. And they do what I ask, or they get none of the profit.

Here ya go--I hate shopping, order my meats from Omaha Steaks when they have the specials, snickers bars, chunky monkey ice cream, reading, soaking in the bath tub, calling kids and friends and relatives LD, oh yes and dungeness crab by the bucket loads---No I do not weigh 300 lbs I just indulge myself on things I like. I'm not above a good glass of wine, a martini or a slab of choco cake for dinner with some vanilla ice cream. I also love little great northen beans and ham. Oh and TV and the net and just being content. Laid back and happy. ;0)

Shop, soak in bath oil with candles and mellow music, lay around and watch chick movies, and order up a Starbucks Venti Frappicino lite, with sugar-free hazelnut and no whipped cream. The ultimate indulgence!!

Every now and then I get a pedicure. And I love good perfume, but rarely buy it. For me, stopping a while to listen to birds in trees is a real treat. Quiet at night, just hearing crickets, is so peaceful. Reading in bed is great.

Other times I buy something for myself or someone else.
