Generally speaking yes. There could be to occasion that a goldfish might eat a guppy, but that would be rare.

you're right they shouldn't be together, and once the goldfish are large enough, your guppies may well become a quick snack for the goldfish, if your guppies survive long enough anyway. Guppys are not hardy fish anymore, and as goldfish are so messy, the likelyhood of heightend ammonia levels will quickly kill off any guppys in the same tank. return the goldfish or the guppys to a reputable fish store. they will not survive together in the longterm no matter what the tank temp is (which should be 70 degrees or so for now).

You can, but it's not a good fit. Guppies are a warm-water (tropical) fish, while goldfish are essentially carp that desire colder water. Goldfish start getting too hot in water that is much above 68 or 70 degrees, while a guppie needs water that approaches 75 degrees. Goldfish will have a tougher time breathing in warmer water, because the are used to higher dissolved oxygen levels of cold water. Also, depending on the size of the aquarium, goldfish can get very big, much bigger than a guppie, making them incompatible because of their size difference. The large fan-tails that many fancy guppies have (especially the males) also tend to get nibbled on by goldfish.

Goldfish produce way too much waste (ammonia) to live with guppies. Once you make a commitment with goldfishes, then goldfishes are the only fish you should keep in your tank.

No ! the gold fish ( when they grow big enough) will eat the guppies . Also guppies will eat their young so put some breeding grass and tall plants, in your tank for places they can hide.
