There's about 10 coming and going. Any suggestions on how to deter them from hanging around?

Would a Garden center like Homebase sell the fake owl or hawk? There are also cats in the area, so that hasn't worked. No one is feeding them that I know of. Thanks everyone.

Did you try asking them nicely? If that doesn't work, I would suggest killing them.

Once upon a time when I was a kid, my Dad reseeded the lawn. All the birds were coming down to feed, so he got a large piece of cardboard from a big box and cut a hawk shape from it. Then he asked me to colour it all in. He put it out the back for a week - and hey presto! no birds. However, it does wear off after a bit - so maybe you could do a whole series; buzzards, eagles, vultures - the possibilities are endless.....

You could try a large fake owl/hawk thing. or you could try hanging CDs from the trees as the light reflecting should put them off. the problem with that is it will probably scare off any other birds.

Remove their food source. If your neigbors are feeding them, and you cannot get them to stop, you indeed have a problem.

EDIT:

Cats will not go after pigeons, or rats for that matter. They prefer smaller prey-mice, sparrows, and bugs.

Fake owls and hawks do not work. Save your money.

I do use the owl that is aluminum. It is light weight and moves with the air, Additionally, hang some wind chimes. They are afraid of movement. This has worked for me. Good luck.

Pidgeons hate anything sticking making contacting with their feet and will leave the area if the problem is encountered.

If you have thick industrial double sided sticky tape or an adhesive, apply to fencing or where they perch. They absolutely hate it when their feet get sticky and will not come back.

The Cat or Owl thing is your best bet without resorting to shooting at them.

Of course, that would be my way of dealing with them, but hey, that's me.
