When he slips off of something(like rocks or a log that is in tank) he just stays on his back and doesn't try to get up. He just lies there til I pick him up. He's acting normal otherwise, I'm sure he's eating. What could be going on?

I researched care, got a book and all. I keep the temp right, give it day time and night, food, I've given it the vitamins on the food.

You are keeping it wrong somehow- your gecko is dying.
It is probably malnourished or diseased.
