nothing to do with 9/11"
Does he think we went into Iraq because of 9/11? Obama is really misguided, we went in not becuase of 9/11, but because of tha "deals"- which Obama is in favor of negotiating with rogue regimes- but Saddam did not adhere to the deals that were made. Dozens of times, he broke his "deals". At one point- do you say enough is enough? The USA did, when we invaded Iraq. NOT because of 9/11 and 9/11 was never used as a reason to invade Iraq.
Someone give Obama a history lesson, and you dems....the deals Saddam broke were deals he made with Bill Clinton.

borock is a typical hypocrite and holds his finger in the air to see which way the current wind direction is blowing to " decide "
his policy , as evidenced by his lates statement " I would invade pakistan" and yet at the same time he is all to willing to repeat the mantra " bush failed in Iraq"
so, borock start flapping your big huge,,,,,

"The regime has longstanding and continuing ties to terrorist groups, and there are Al Qaida terrorists inside Iraq." - George W. Bush Delivers Weekly Radio Address, White House (9/28/2002)
"We know that Iraq and al Qaeda have had high-level contacts that go back a decade. Some al Qaeda leaders who fled Afghanistan went to Iraq. These include one very senior al Qaeda leader who received medical treatment in Baghdad this year, and who has been associated with planning for chemical and biological attacks. We've learned that Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases." - President Bush Outlines Iraqi Threat; Remarks by the President on Iraq, White House (10/7/2002)
"He has trained and financed al Qaeda-type organizations before, al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations." - President George Bush Discusses Iraq in National Press Conference, White House (3/6/2003)
OCT 28 Remarks by the President in Colorado Welcome
"He's got connections with al Qaeda
NOV 02 Remarks by the President in Florida Welcome
"We know that he's had connections with al Qaeda."
Well, now why would anyone think that.

The mass media -- and Bush -- constantly say that we are in Iraq because of what happened on Sept 11 of 2001. Go back over Bush's press conferences and you'll see frequent references to 9/11 as justification for the US in Iraq.
So, if Obama is making the same claims, he's misguided?
But that's not what Obama is saying -- he's not saying we ARE in Iraq because of 9/11 -- he's saying that many OTHER people say we're in Iraq because of 9/11.
In other words -- he's quoting other people and saying THEY misrepresented the facts. Which is exactly what you appear to also be saying.

There's no question that the lingering emotion generated by 9/11 and the frustration with not having gotten Osama in Afghanistan may have bouyed the effort to go to war with Iraq, even if the main /reasons/ for going had nothing directly to do with 9/11, some of the popular support for it (and hesitancy to vote against authorization) could have.
But, no misrepresentation of 9/11 was required to take advantage of that.

That is not what Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld originally said. There are dozens of episodes of video and written evidence to the contrary. It is amazing how many times that story has changed. Hmm...
Also, the "deals" that Saddam Hussein supposedly broke mostly involved his stockpiling of WMDs. How many WMDs did we find? None. So why DID we go if he was not involved with 9/11 and he did not have any signficant WMDs?

It's hilarious listening to Obama. He's a complete idiot. I don't even know how he got to be a senator or whatever he is, but he's an embarrassment as a presidential candidate.
This guy makes Bush look like an absolute genius.
I bet Hillary is laughing all the way to the primaries !!
