I know it has to do with a Story involving Snape and Lily, I just dont know what that story is about, or where it came from...?

Harry had his mother's eyes. Snape had been in love with Lilly since they were kids. He also wanted Harry to take his thoughts (the slivery thing) and go look at it. This way, Harry would know that Snape had been working with Dumbledore all along. He also needed Harry to know that he needed to "die" because he was a Horcrux. In order to kill Voldemort, all seven Horcrux had to be destroyed.
I didn't say he died. The word is in quotes. I suggest you go back and re-read those few chapters.

While the other answers about loving Lily sound nice, I think he mostly wanted to be sure that Harry saw the thoughts coming out of his head, so that Harry would collect them, use the penseive, and Snape would be able to give Harry the last of the information he needed to, even after death.

I think it's because Harry has Lily's eyes and Snape wanted to 'see' her. :) So sweet.

Snape wanted to look at harry eyes, since they were lilys eyes, and remember his love for her before he died. i think he wanted to die with memories of her going through his head...
that part was so bittersweet; snape isn't evil but he died...

i think it was so snape could see lily's eyes-which harry got-one more time before he would never see them again.

so he could give harry his memory and so snape could look at Harry's eys before he died (it was like looking at Lily's eyes)

because he was in love with Lily Potter (Harry's mom) his whole life and he wanted to look into Harry's eyes because he loved Lily the whole of his life. And Harry had Lily's eyes.
No other reason, just that he wanted to see the eyes of the one he loved before he died.

I believe that he wanted to see Lily's eyes one last time, but also I think that he meant of Harry to take his memory...the silvery liquid and go back through his memories.
