what would you do? How would you make the best of it? How would you get along or cope with the people you used to refer to " as crack heads" or "trash" or "poor people on welfare" or "minorities"? Forgive me if you are not guilty of the above but I tire of people trashing places like South Phoenix. Without giving a goofy answer, how would you deal with being ripped out of your warm zone and put in an area that is labeled as bad? There is addicts and criminals no matter where you go, but South Phoenix always takes the bad rap. There are a lot of dealers in S.P. but the dopers come from good neighborhoods to buy drugs too. You never hear about the good hard working people who are doing their best to raise their families and have a good life. Not only do they fight to keep their kids in school and to graduate, they have to fight off violence too.

And why is it considered a bad area, why is it that THAT area got filled up with crack heads, why do the crack heads decide to sell crack only in certain neighborhoods in the city, why is it that when they sell crack the neighborhood stops even looking like a neighborhood, how does selling crack put trash on the streets and paint the walls with graffiti, and why is everything so damn segregated? I just don't understand. How did the bad area get that way?

I HAVE lived in the ghetto. When you're 18, it's tough to find a place to live on your own, and that happened to be the best I could find.

No, you aren't suddenly nice to the crack heads, or the 'gangta' mentality people. You mind your own business, go about your life, drive to the better part of town to do your shopping, and make sure your doors are locked at night.

Were there good people in the area I lived in? Probably. I don't know, and don't care. It's not like any of them were friendly, at any rate. I minded my own business.

Simple as that.
