I bought an HP laptop a year ago and it has a few expansion slots on it for w/e. My question is can I get a video card expansion for my laptop?

I heard of putting them in the expansion slots and also external video cards but don't know where to find them or if they're in the making or what. Does any one else know?

Nope, in 99.9999% of laptops, video cannot be upgraded- sorry.

Some models (Like Dells) may offer different video options when you order them, but that can only be changed at the factory prior to assembly and shipping.

There are external USB TV tuner cards like the Hauppage WinTV PVR (makes your laptop into a Tivo) but that doesn't affect your main video.

hi! about your laptop video card expansion. unlike desktop computers there is a slim chance that your laptop can handle videocard upgrades you need to check the manufacturer's website if they offer such services.

and about the thing of putting them on the expansion slot / external video cards. well you need a lot of tweaking to do to make the thing work. you need to disable the primary videocard and or the price for the videocard will surely pinch your pocket .

here are some recommended reading about the external video card.

You can not upgrade a laptops graphics. It is embedded on the main board. The only hardware on a laptop that are upgradeable is the RAM and HD. That is pretty much it.
