Losing the war? Who said that? Whoever it was don't listen to them because everything over there is going wonderfuly. That's right, no problems in Iraq. However, if you do believe that the war is a losing effort I just wanted to let you know that you are a terrorist.

Being a stoner doesn't have much to do with it past the impaired comprehension level.
There is an article in Monday's (7-30-07) NY Times written by two scholars from the Brookings Institute (which is considered to be politically liberal) titled "A War We Just Might Win", that's very interesting. You can find it through a Yahoo or Google search and make your own conclusions.
Myself, from the toll we've paid in lives lost and the cost $$ that's climbing by thousands and thousands as I even type this, I don't know. I think we should have finished things in Afghanistan and Pakistan first.

Power politics doesn't require a win, or a loss. It requires being able to influence another country without regard for how they feel about it. We can step into Iraq, do as we wish, and the next Arab country that desires to be allied with anti-American causes will think about it , at least a little while. It's about domination, control, and money. We always try to leave a good impression, or a least a nice series of craters.

What exactly would be a "win" in Iraq? To set up a stable democracy where the Sunnis and Shiites get along? To find and wipe out all the terrorists? To stop the killing of civilians (both Iraqi and American)? The problem is our goals are unobtainable. We could remain there for many more years without meeting any of these objectives. And, in the meantime, American lives will be lost, and hundreds of billions of dollars (which could be applied to healthcare, dependency from foreign oil, education, etc.) will be spent.
We got rid of Saddam and some of his cronies, and made sure there were no WMDs. Let's call it a day and get the heck out!

I don't know anything about your politics or drug use, so I cannot comment on that.
The reason we are not "winning" in Iraq is that we have no defined goals that we can accomplish in a finite time. Since there is no finish line, and no milestones, and no objectives for what we are trying to achieve, we cannot "win".
If we had a defined goal that is something we (not somebody else) could do, then it would be possible to actually talk about "winning" or "losing" -- since those terms mean achieving or not achieving a defined goal. But without that defined goal, it's impossible to discuss whether we've achieved it.

Edit: I think AfroJustice300 (above) said it best.
You can't win when you're the referee.

We're not winning the war in Iraq because we don't have any idea what our objective is. You can't define victory unless you have an objective to acheive.
If the objective was to overthrow Sadaam Hussein - then we already won. If it's to install a democratic, pro-Ammerican government in Iraq then we're nowhere near victory and never will be.
To win a war you need objectives. Making a country adhere to your philosophies of government and freedom is NOT an objective. It's an idea - and you can't win an idea.

We have won! Saddam was executed for cryin out loud!
What we haven't won, and can't win, is the Iraqi Civil War. How can you win a civil war when you're the referee?

How do you blame someone for a failed war when they don't even have the power to change a failed policy? I guess these losers have to blame someone for thier failures, why not someone who criticizes the policy?
