Just to annoy a pain in my @ss parent, that's scheduled a meeting with me, my department head, senior department head and the principal of the school where I teach. Third meeting in three days.

First meeting - parent was unhappy that I sent her child home after the health inspectors checked her hair! I am certain you know what the problem was.
Second meeting - they had a complaint about my department head... What this has to do with me, I really don't know!
They don't have a problem with me, well except that I told the mom she was being rude to my department head when she yelled at her! Then she yelled at me! Well, the principal of my school asked her to leave the property and not return.
Her child loves me and loves being in my class. I'm not the problem, but I am tired of having to attend the meetings because the child is in my class...

You know...... I've often said.... parents can be the best part or the worst part of our jobs. You want parents to take an active role.... yes. But then there is micromanaging. Where you realize the kid will NEVER solve anything on their own cause they know the parent will always be there to pick up the slack. I'd call my principal and see if it is imperative that you be there. If you must.... then go. Make it quick..... painless..... and then hurry on back here to us. :) Good luck!!!

Sounds like you need a refresher course in teaching. What's the problem? 3rd meeting in as many days. That sounds like there's a problem with your teaching skills or lack thereof. Be an adult and go face your problems and maybe try and fix them, huh? Parents expect great things from teachers. If you're not willing to change then get another job, please.

If you were told about the meeting before hand then go. If you heard from someone else in the office that they plan on meeting with you, then avoid any of your superiors or anyone who may insist you show up like the plague and call in sick.

No because your co-workers need your assistance to do the job right. Even if your tired things will get better and you will receive something in return.

Third meeting in as many days? Yeah, call in sick, and make your contempt blatantly obvious . . . .

I think its best that you face the problem head on. Running away shows insecurity.

Good lord girl, what are you teaching? Were you dressed, or undressing at the time, or do something to piss-off parents?

Yes you should. Life is short. Seize the day, and make it yours! Wake up, and start dreaming again.

Call in "well" instead:
"Hi. It's a beautiful day, I feel wonderful and I'm not going to mess it up by coming in. See you tomorrow....... probably."
