I dont know how experienced you are, but you should give remote desktop a shot.

One small detail the previous person forgot to mention. Remote Desktop does not allow multiple connections, so the person behind the computer will get disconnected. Also, Remote Desktop is only available in Windows XP Professional.

What you need is the VNC software. I use RealVNC and UltraVNC. They are both free. Do a search online for them.

You will need to install the VNC software in your mom's pc when you pay her a visit or guide her through the process. Remember to setup a password so no one but you can reach the computer and manage it remotely.

www.realvnc.com look for the free edition.

VNC allows you to control the pc and watch what the other person is doing while both remain connected. That is the difference.

Hope this helps.

Windows has remote capabilites built in..but if your mom can't handle getting her own email..this wil be too much for her to setup..you may have to take a trip and set it up for her..or send geeksquad over..

If that is what you're using... BUT it's risky.

I would just find tutorials online, and send her the links to print out the pages. These are 3 easy things to do, and if I can assist in any way, I can help.

You can use gotomypc. It isn't free, but you would bascially see her desktop and access it remotely.
