There is nothing wrong with it. It is a good way to make money while your are still in college. Not a good career though.

Honestly it shouldnt matter what other people think. If you're doing it for a good cause (college and paying bills) then you should be looking at them funny because you're doing something positive with your life! Stripping isnt the greatest of jobs but it IS a job. I give you much credit because it's not an easy job and college is not cheap either so honestly i think you are far better off than the people who look at you "funny" due to your occupation is theirs any grander?

I agree with Stephen L, you never have to tell anyone what you do for a living. More power to you for finding a job that has hours that work with your school schedule and pays enough to cover the bills. Plus, you get a great workout while at work, so you can skip the gym.
If people react funny when you tell them that you are an exotic dancer, so be it. I’m guessing that they have a set stereotype of what an exotic dancer is, and you being a smart, beautiful woman throws them off balance.

If you can do what you do for a living, you are obviously strong enough that it doesn't matter to you what people think. If they can't handle it, it's their problem, not yours. I think you may get the 'funny' looks for a couple of reasons, either they are envious of you self confidence or they've heard tall tales of exploits in the Champagne Rooms from others. There's a connotation of prostitution that goes along with stripping - perhaps to soothe people's sensibilities, you could simply say that you are a dancer when people ask what you do. It's not lying, but it will keep them from giving you 'that look'.

If stripping pays your college bills, then it is up to you to decide if it is right for you. I understand there is a difference between stripping and Hooking though.
Unfortunately not every one does. That might include your parents. I would think they would be the hard ones to convince.

First of all, you're not obligated to tell people how you support yourself. However, if you choose to do so, I think you should answer by saying that you're working your way through college by being an exotic dancer. There are those who will always judge, but I think most people will understand, given how expensive college is these days.

I can't judge you, because I don't know you, but of course people are judgemental about you - you would be naive to think this should be otherwise.
If you're a stripper and you're OK with it, then fine, that's all that matters.
But society in general has a pretty dim view of strippers, you must know that, and categorise them with pimps and prostitutes irrespective of whether there's any truth in that or not.
If you're going to stick with doing this for a while, then you'll have to develop a thicker skin.

I don't doubt that you're very attractive, but you have to understand that people don't really see strippers with favorable eyes for some reason. Most people think its a low life job lacking morals. Maybe others have just never met a stripper before! But hey, more power to ya girl. i see nothing wrong with it, everyone gets by however they can...

People probably look at you that way because they know that you deal with the scum of the earth every day. Men who go to strip clubs are generally scumbags. And you profit off them. To many people, that is kind of...well...not something most people could do.
