An interesting two choices for making your point. I know many liberals who are very religious and quite a few conservatives that accept the premise of global warming.
But look at your two choices another way. The first is questioning the existence of an entity that it takes faith to believe in, something that cannot be proven, but must be believed from strictly a place of pure faith. So at least in questioning the existence of God they aren't pointing at facts and saying they don't mean anything. There aren't any facts to point to.
Global warming comes from science, using hard cold facts, no faith involved. It becomes a little harder to point at that and question it, and so therefore people kick back a little harder and question not only the intelligence of those simply denying it, but take into consideration whether these people are simply lazy and deny, deny, deny because they don't want to have to change their cherished lifestyle of simply not worrying about it.
I think it has more to do with WHAT is being questioned, not the questioning itself. By the way, I'm not a liberal or a conservative, just an observer on this one.

First of all, you're generalizing all liberals as atheists. It's just a stereotype. But here's your answer:
God --- No scientific evidence. Requires faith.
Global Warming: Lots of surveys and scientific evidence and over 90% of the world's climatologists agree that man has a hand in it.
I'm an agnostic because there is no evidence for or against a God (although there are compelling arguments for both cases). For the earth's climate... I'll go with the people who study if for a living.

Why does everything always have to be turned into a con vs. lib issue? Is it so hard to accept the fact that while we may have different methods we are all working towards the same goal? The constant infighting amongst the differing ideologies is causing more and more people to become disenfranchised with the whole political process. Most just quit caring, while there are still some, like me, who have decided not to affiliate with any party and instead make up our own minds about what to believe.

Asking questions is one of the best things you can do in life! It shows you're interested in the world and desire answers and knowledge; it shows that you value education, no matter how unconventional the field! Imagine where we'd be if people didn't ask questions, society would be completely stagnant. You need people who are willing to question absolutely everything.

It's not questioning global warming that causes certain people to be called ignorant.
It's flat out denying that we could possibly have any effect on the environment by our actions that seems ignorant.
Rationally debating a subject, and being open to evidence that might change your mind -- that's enlightened.
Steadfastly arguing your point of view, and refusing to consider anything that contradicts -- that's ignorance.
I'm not saying who is doing what. Just defining terms.

Well, if the ignorance you are displaying here is any indicator...
I happen to be a liberal, and I believe in the existence of God. Maybe if you did a little less stereotyping people would take you more seriously.

Because more people post to toot their own horns as liberals than the conservatives, because the conservatives are already close to losing yet another account because they can't stop calling liberals, 'traitorous swine.' So, they avoid it, probably because they're writing another question that says, 'We should round up lieberals and shoot them?'

How are these two things even remotely related.
God is all about faith, global warming is about picking up a thermometer and noticing change.
Sort of "ignorant" to compare the two.

.Good science should always be questioned and evaluated. It's not the fact that you question such a thing... it's the fact that many of you believe or don't believe simply because you were told to. Or at least that is the appearance given off.

Says who? Are you whining?
Conseravtives question global warming BECAUSE environmentalism is a "liberal" cause. Its not per se but it is called that.
All too often, cons question what in fact they hate.
And they often hate a LOT.
