Everyone seems to have an opinion on him, will you give me yours, and why?

I feel I really have to stress the "and why" part.

I respect him for his seeming decency and abiding desire to show people that there ARE other ways to see things.

But, I disagree with him on so very, very much. Get rid of FEMA?! Hey, I know that Brownie did a heck of a job, but FEMA really IS (or can be) useful, and this was proven under Clinton, when FEMA head Jamie Lee Witt came in and made the agency a showcase of Federal government efficiency, capabiltiy, and utility.

I know that Ron Paul isn't targeting FEMA because of Brownie - it's because he's a staunch libertarian, and as such doesn't believe that government has a purpose other than a military as small as possible.

I like the CIVIL libertarian in him - he wants to repeal the Patriot Act, and I'm with him - but there IS a role, and a strong one, for government.

[edit] He's also still a doubter on the science of climate change, and that's hard to respect. No better in that regard than Brownback, Tancredo, and Huckabee questioning the validity of the theory of evolution.

Unrealistic....
I am all for a candidate to be anti-establishment and pro-small federal government, but Ron Paul is a crazy person. He doesn't want to reform federal programs or weed out ineffective parts of the bureaucracy, he wants to get attention by saying that he would abolish NAFTA and quit the UN. LOL, these are irresponsible ideas that resemble isolationist thought. He doesn't provide alternatives he just identifies problems and wants to throw the baby out with the bath water. Anyways he is just a temporary distraction that will probably be forgotten by the time the Republican convention roles around.

I agree with him on most things, except the Iraq war. I favored the invasion even though there were no wmd's for a hundred other reasons. Reconstruction was handled badly.

Ron Paul is the only supporter of the Constitution and he has a record to back it up.

Most of all he seems like a nice guy and trustworthy.

The only reservations I have is, if we get hit again with terrorist attack wile he's president, being the only supporter of individual liberties would keep us vulnerable.

I think he's a good man in principal, but I find him to be incredibly naive about foreign affairs. He thinks we can be isolationists in this world atmosphere; he wants to dismantle the CIA; and an awful lot of people take offense at him being an American apologist over 9/11. That's why he can't get above 3% in any poll you can find. He has a boatload of online supporters though, and if you went strictly by them you'd think the man was the Republican favorite. They irritate a lot of people in here with their "Vote Ron Paul" spamming thinly disguised as questions. The reality is that he really has no legimate chance at the nomination or the election, no matter how you look at it.

I have been following Ron Paul's political career for over 20 years, and for the first time in my life have become politically motivated to try to get him elected.
I have a book written by him & published in 1991 called,"The Ron Paul Money Book". In it he very thouroughly explains American economics, American money, the American political system, parts of the Constitution & exactly why they were written.

He is a very strict Constitutionalist & strongly believes in the freedom, for the people, philosphies of Thomas Jefferson.

I honestly believe America is currently way off course, and Ron Paul & his ideals, can streighten things out so that Americans are once more "Proud" to be an American again!
Thank You!

Honestly, he is the only Republican candidate who is realistic about the War in Iraq. He also, basically, know what he is doing. Oddly enough, he is the most conservative up there, and i am very liberal...but if I had to vote for a republican, it would be him.

Ron Paul is one of the few candidates who dares to speak the truth, and have voted consistently by following his own principles, and by following the Constitution. He is my hero, and he is the only politician I can trust and will vote for. He has earned my respect and my vote. His leadership will be literally exceptional, because he is an exceptional candidate.

No other politician can match his track record or his honesty and integrity, period.

I think very highly of him and think he is the most honest candidate out there. Honesty and an a politician in the same sentence? Who would have thought...

I am wholeheartedly in support of him. He speaks with reason. He believes in the constitution, a document I have sorely missed during this administration. He has a following that spans all demographics. He isn't as well known as many of the other candidates, and sadly, I don't think he's going to win at this stage of the game. I hope I'm very wrong.

Not much. He's leading a pack of internet spammers that irritate the hell out of everybody. So the views of the leader of the zombies is of no interest to me.
