While I would certainly like to see the Padres do it for a third straight year, I'm not sure they can pull it off. There was a flurry of trades for the Padres over the last week, but they picked up no one of real impact except for Milton Bradley. And, we'll see if replacing Rettenmund with Wally Joyner as the batting coach has any effect on the most anemic offense in the National League (Padres were shut out 4 times in July alone).
The Dodgers only made one trade before the deadline (utility man Betemit traded for set-up man Proctor). And, I suspect they'll fall flat at the end of the season again. They certainly won't run away with it.
The D'Backs didn't make one move before the trading deadline. But, they're young and they're good. As such, they're very streaky. If they get on a hot streak at the right time, they could pull it off. But, young teams usually choke in the playoffs.
The Rocks are the dark horse. They've been gradually catching up to the pack all season. You just wonder when they're going to make their move.
The Giants are out of it. Bochy is too much of a percentages guy and that team may as well be managed by a computer algorithm. He doesn't trust his gut and his team's record reflects that.
It's going to come down to the last week of the season. And, all four of the top NL West teams have an equal shot. Right now, it's too close to call.

Unfortunately, it's moot. No one can stop the Red Sox this year.
But for the record, I think the dodgers pull in off in the end.

i see the Madres winning that division. But whatever team does make the post season, will lose horribly in the first round like always.

I am pulling for the pads, they have the best pitching but it wont be easy as they are all pretty evenly matched.
