should i just let it go?

a friend of mine and i haven't seen each other in some time. he calls me once in a while to just say hi but i rarely have time or think to call him. we went through some weird stuff when we were younger, so i feel akward talking to him now. he doesn't of course. he's also good friends with my brother and he's come over 2 times in the past and i did talk to him but i was a bit shy, i'm not really sure what a good word to describe it is, i wasn't sure what to talk about? i'm feeling better about myself now and i feel like i don't care what anyone thinks anymore, that was part of my problem. but i did tell him about the fact that i'm sorry i don't know how to talk to people anymore, meaning people i haven't seen in ages. i feel like i've changed as a person and sometimes i don't think they'd accept it. ever since i told him this, we were texting because he was working, he hasn't called, written or anything. did i say something wrong. i let him know it wasn't just him, a friend came over

just a few weeks prior to our conversation and even her and i had akward silence. i guess it just takes me and sometimes others times to feel outgoing with one another again. but really did i say something wrong and what should i do to make him realize i was not saying anything to offend him i was being honest.

sometimes being honest comes across as mean or rude so i am sorry would maybe do it and talk that is what communication is.
